I saw several Easter Eggs that I haven't read anywhere...see if you got them as well.

Seeing MOS we knew there would likely be some references to other heroes and villains.

I've listed several that I caught.

1. Animals that visually look like Doomsday with bony protuberances.Give the genetic manipulation not a stretch to assume a doomsday monster could exist in the Universe.

2. the obvious Lexcorp

3. Obvious Wayne Enterprises satellite

4. Cnl Hardy = The Guardian

5. Dr. Hamilton - Star Labs - Cyborg - Superboy - etc...

6. Word of the day relating to unknown invaders - Trident - may relate to Aquaman that and Atlantis, given the government organization that was running the show.

7. The kryptonian suit worn when Zod is showing Supes the history of the outposts...these were the suit Lex wears to fight Superman

8. The World Maker is a ship that Brainiac uses. Symbology is that same

9. Captain Carol Ferris is the chick at the end who thinks Superman is Hot.

What did you see...?

I don't like how Dr.Hamilton was killed..in comics & toon he helped Superman on many occasions.

With big brains like Lex & Brainiac as enemies,it would have been nice to keep the doc around for his high scientific intelligence.

Do we know that was Carol and how?

Technically, Ferris was spelled Farris so it was more a nod to fans and not the actual character. Upset as well about Hamilton, thought the character would have a bigger role moving forward.

Colonel Hardy related to Jim Harper how?

The code word Trident had nothing to do with Aquaman.

Those Kryptonian suits looked nothing liked Lex's battlesuit.

Nothing in this film overtly connected to Braniac.

I wil say does anyone think Lex will find Zod's suit, rebuilt it and use it?

Zod pretty much just took it off and left it.

Anyone looking for more references, mostly composed of Smallville stuff, there's an article that says quite a bit, you can read it by clicking HERE.

I'm not a Supes fan at all, but right down from the dialogue, to the Kryptonian aliens, this movie is incredibly close to the comics. I love it!

Wow. I missed a lot of these. Thank you for this.

@MarkJulian: He is not referring to the armor Zod and his army wore, he is referring the armor worn by the House of El's ancestors that were staffing the 'S' flag during the history scene of Krypton between Jor-El and Clark. The scene that is them with the silver hologram things. The armor worn by them is the spitting image of the green/purple worn by Lex.

@Gambit Maybe I missed that but it didn't immediately spring to mind. Saw it in 2D and that scene hurt my eyes.

@cipher what are you talking about?!

^ supposedly Cavill resembles Reeves in that shot.

TheGambitFreak - 6/15/2013, 9:15 PM
@cipher Right?! Ive been searching threads all day. No one is talking about it. Surely it was CGI'd cause the resemblance was un-[frick]ing-canny!

TheGambitFreak - 6/15/2013, 9:24 PM
I still am wondering if it was actually Cavill's face or if they plastered Reeves onto his, Tron Legacy Jeff Bridges style.

Man Of Steel Movie Easter Eggs

That was defo Chris Reeves' face, in that shot. Undeniably.
Remember that guy who runs the Christopher Reeves website thing (little gay, I know, but whatever)? He convinced Snyder to put in one little easter egg? Then, a little while later we saw photos of somebody dressed like Reeves as Kent from the beginning of Superman III and we all just assumed this was it? Remember alla that? Well, I was keeping an eye out for that easter egg and couldn't find it, but this Reeves face moment stuck out like some dudes face changing into some other dudes face for a second or two. I'm betting that this was the little easter egg that the Christopher Reeves website guy convinced them to put in.

I did notice a couple of things that haven't been mentioned. In the scene where Clark gets beat up outside of Sullivan's (as in Chloe Sullivan) truck repair, one of the little jock kids turns his shoulder to us and we see the number 52 on his jacket. A reference to DC's multiverse. Strange that I should point this out on 6/16.
Then there was the Utopia Casinos, which alludes to Kryptonite. There are even possible explanations as to why Supes would be affected by Kryptonite in a bad way, throughout the movie.
Also, this may not be an easter egg at all, but Lois holding the Clark after he kills Zod was very reminiscent to the end of Death of Superman, when she is holding him after he has killed Doomsday. Except, he's still alive.
Oh and I totally agree with the Brainiac allusions. All that was missing was the name. All Kryptonian AI tech would be related to Brainiac, in some way and the designs are very similar, with the connected three circles motif. That world breaker was so Brainiac's ship (which was actually a modified Brainiac) from the '80s comics.
The World Breaker was Brainiac. Plain and simple.
And yes, Hardy was the movie version of Guardian, because that was his tag.
No Noel Neil, though. And did anybody see Pandora?

@Cipher, the lady friend and I both saw Reeve in that scene. We both let out a "Holy Shit!" at the same time.

When Superman takes off in the scout ship that was in the ice for the first time and it cuts to the scientist that falls asleep monitoring the ice, there are two computer screens. One that is monitoring the ice and the one on the left is some completely different landscape that looks a lot like Mars. Martian Manhunter nod maybe?

@cipher - I know exactly what scene you are talking about! I pointed out the resemblance to my husband when we were at the theater. Looked exactly like Reeve!
