Justin Hartley "Smallville" Interview and Justice Society Talk!

The guys at Fancast.com got some time with Justin Hartley for a interview and they asked him about his "Smallville" role as Oliver Queen (Green Arrow). So what can all you Green Arrow and Smallville fans expect from new episodes of Season 9? Questions and answers right here...

Check out Fancast.com's great interview below:

Fancast: All of the fans are abuzz about the two-part Justice Society episode, coming in January. Geoff Johns Tweeted about how Green Arrow and Hawkman "don't get along. At all."

Justin Hartley: No, they don't. They don't. They have completely different views on just about everything you can imagine. Hawkman (played by 'Stargate's' Michael Shanks) has this sort of antiquated, conservative point of view, while Oliver is the "liberal bleeding heart." Together, they are a match made in hell.

FC: Add in Clark, Stargirl and Doctor Fate, and it sounds like it will be a comic-book lover's dream come true.

JH: It will be. You have Geoff writing it, and then there's the fact that it was originally one show, but when it came in the producers were like, "This is a feature film; we better make it two." They're not sparing any expense. In fact, this whole year has been really, really good. I think we're begging for a Season 10, with all that we've been doing.

FC: Are we to assume that Ollie is now mentoring Mia/Speedy off-screen?

JH: Elisa [Gatien] is going to come back for at least one more [episode], maybe two, so yeah, that’s what he’s doing, which is in line with the comics. But just because he’s not still being self-destructive doesn’t mean he’s the same person he was. I hate to compare the show to ‘Dexter,’ but it’s about how he manages that dark side.

FC: I understand Green Arrow will be meeting up with Dark Archer in the episode “Disciple.”

JH: Yeah, and that’s going to be interesting. Steve Bacic (aka “Dr. Sexy, MD” on ‘Supernatural’) plays Dark Archer. He’s a really good-looking guy, but when they did him up with the beard and this black costume, he becomes a gnarly, menacing dude. We had a good time.

LEEE777 - I say bring on a season 10 and yes you guessed it, we need a "Green Arrow" spin off show too. I personally think it's time to change the name next season to "Metropolis" to keep the freshness and basically it's mainly set in Metropolis now, so why not. Well that is if we get another season, fingers crossed! ; )

I love all the smallville news lately :D.
This stuff sounds realy good, they're esthablishing the 'arrow verse' more and more. But i'm still not that excited about a GA spinoff. Metropolis would be cool. Maybe they can pull off a nother few seasons, cause season 9 has put my faith back in this show :D.

As much as we want a spin-off, it may not happen.WB seems to be getting it's act together with the creation of DC Entertainment. They're finally focusing on their comic book properties. They have been trying to make a Green Arrow film, which should be easy to do, because it wouldn't require a large budget. It seems unlikely they would commit to a multiple season television series involving a character they want to make a film about.

Yeah @ KENNY @ and you are WB lol, fact is man, "SMALLVILLE" is classed a success and i wouldn't be surprised if we get more than one spin off outta this, be it SUPERGIRL, JUSTICE, LEGION etc etc!

JSA has a good chance too! Theres a reason we're getting tons of DC Universe cameos an it ain't just for the ratings.

SPILOX @ Yeah it'll be just a name change if they go with METROPOLIS lol, but it would be cool!

I feel like you and I are the only one that really like this show. I don't really care it doesn't follow the comics. It a show for entertainment with characters we like to see on TV. Sure there have been some wacky seasons but come on 9 FREAKIN YEARS!!!!! Thats awesome and I want 9 FREAKIN MORE!!!!!!!!

they could easily go for a DC Universe anthology series with 1 or more characters per episodes per story... that'd be decent. A Green Arrow here, an Aquaman there ... a 2 part crossover with the Legion & the JS...
Hey anythings possible.. I'm just saying..

DeathWalker @ Yeah, but theres quite a bit of ppl on here that luvs the show, i started to really hate it last season, with [frick]ing up DOOMSDAY that should've never been in the show in the first place, but yeah love the DC cameos, cant wait for the JSA ones and the magic is deff back on SMALLVILLE!

veylre @ Cool, ive been saying a DC OUTER LIMITS show, different characters an actors of lesser known heroes and villains in every show, RAGMAN, VIGILANTE, etc etc, though nothing to do with SMALLVILLE, but i like your idea of that kinda spin off a lot dude, kudos!!

ANIL @ Hell yeah to ROUTH back as SUPERMAN!! ; )

Hey whos MATT BOMER then, that a new name, whats his best stuff??

i am really, really enjoying this season, and cannot wait for more (although uncertain bout the wonder twins, lol) I agree, there is so much potential for multiple spin-offs from this show, and i would luv for that! there could easily be a new episode of a comic book show every night! hey i can dream cant i? lol
and whos matt bomer, never heard of him, dont want him, i want routh to have another crack at it!

woo hoo!

I didn't know what Dr. Fate looked like until the pic posted above, for those worried that SV will not do the helmet, refer to last season's Legion episode, Persuader had his trademark helmet.

If anyone is keeping track of who is an SV fan, count me in. I strayed at times over the years, I hated the Lana as a witch arc, but liked Lana as the SV version of Matrix. I thought last season was going to be the best we could hope for, but S9 just keeps getting better.

Tom Welling is the only person suitable for wearing the red and blue on the silver screen.
