He's in there but before fanboys freak out that's just a teaser. It's not meant to be what he'll actually look like throughout the season.

LEEE777 - 9/25/2010, 5:05 AM
Lets hope not!

DARKSEID is a must for the BIG SCREEN like DOOMSDAY is!!!

DARKSEID's perfect for a JLA movie or SUPERMAN REBOOT!

JOLT @ Lol heh heh heh! ; D
Creature
Creature - 9/25/2010, 5:13 AM
Yes, and he looks REAL BAD!
I hope they know atleast half of what they're doing, because this is just too ghoulish, silent, and CGI looking for even Darkseid.
Jolt17
Jolt17 - 9/25/2010, 5:32 AM
@Viper yeah, I know that... And I hope that's the last time! I'm just afraid he'll be a letdown like Doomsday back at 8...

@LEEE heh heh heh! I'm with you all the way in Superman concerns, LEEE! Darkseid/Doomsday are for Superman reboot! JLA... Better Lexie and friends!

Routh/Cavill, still? ;D

@Creature I think he looks like this 'CGI looking' because... I have to admit that Smallville's CGI is a crap! That's the best CGI form in the show IMO.

@tea MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH!!!

:P

it looked cool for a tv show to pull it off.

Despite the lack of texture in the CGI, I still got a nerdgasm when I saw it.

Whats with the white eyes? Thats really my only complaint about it. Omega beam red eyes!!!!!!!!!!!

waylon- is not white is read when u it on da show.

For those that missed it last night, it's an early mist formation of Darkseid. He hasn't yet taken shape. I think it looks good (especially in context).
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 9/25/2010, 7:12 AM
Bottom line is....

DARKSEID should not be in SMALLVILLE!

Ever!

Hell what Waylon said, they can't even get the [frick]ing eyes right, theres no hope for a TV version lol!
Jolt17
Jolt17 - 9/25/2010, 7:34 AM
@Mom mist? Well, if this means he won't be 'Darkseid' until the end of the show, that's just right (I mean he'll be still in this mist all along the show, and in the very end he takes shape, and signs a threat for the newly-'formed' Superman, and thus leaving a cliffhanger).. And leave him for Superman!

I dont know alot about darkseid tbf
i like the idea he is in smallville
but im not sure about the idea about his next form...
if he goes into someones body-thats s*h*i*t
if he ends up like doomsday-also bad
fight at the end-worried about

WaylonJones
WaylonJones - 9/25/2010, 8:24 AM
Is it me or is his left eye just a little higher than his right? Maybe im nit picking but you would at least think they could make the eyes even?
gamecreatorjj
gamecreatorjj - 9/25/2010, 9:02 AM
alright, the CGI look was because he transformed from smoke, weaning it had to be cgi, second i found out what there doing with him, and even though it is very differant from the comics, one of his "new powers" very much fits with his character of being "a control freak" and if you dont think he is a control frak look at the anti life equation
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 9/25/2010, 9:16 AM
Waylon @ Yeah lol!

IF CW has any sense they'll keep him in shadows the whole season...

An Alien type thing! (As in movie)

You know he's there but never see him really.
YogiDonnie
YogiDonnie - 9/25/2010, 9:19 AM
Call me crazy, but I thought that thing at the end looked more like Mongul than Darkseid. Anyone else think the same?
YourMomNaked
YourMomNaked - 9/25/2010, 9:43 AM
@WaylonJones...It's you! Do you know what perspective means (as in art)?! You're looking at a single frame from a motion capture. Ugh! Do you actually think they would intentionally make one eye off?! It moving. Duh!

If this was ANYTHING other than Smallville CGI people wouldn't be as harsh. Looks like they could use it for DCUO and people would be happy. Remember, this isn't CGI from a multi million dollar feature film ;p
WaylonJones
WaylonJones - 9/25/2010, 10:48 AM
@yourmomnaked hey I looked at it a long time before I made my comment I've seen the episode and I'm not picking on it cuz don't like the show I happen to like it alot. But if they are going to do it do it right the eyes just don't look right one is higher than the other and they are white instead of red.
WaylonJones
WaylonJones - 9/25/2010, 10:50 AM
Ps he is looking right at the camera look at the outline of his face

Wolverine1974 - 9/25/2010, 11:24 AM
OK, I have to set some thing straight. The name of the show is Smallville. Darkseid actually showed up in Metropolis at the top of Watchtower. Sorry but if your gonna rag on it at least get the facts right.
DudeOfSteel16
DudeOfSteel16 - 9/25/2010, 11:45 AM
I'm sick of looking on smallville posts and seeing LEEE777 crying like a little bitch about every little detail that he doesn't like. If you don't like the show then stop watching it you prick.
Dynamo

@Teabag
Name a show with better CGI.
Batson
Batson - 9/25/2010, 12:39 PM
The cgi is decent for a tv show since it was just meant as a teaser.
Also cgi has kind of sucked until recently. Compare darkseid to the cgi in star wars episode 1 and some of the early harry potter's.
I am stoked that darkseid is going to be smallville, because I loved both verbal and physical clashes that came to life in the dcau. Try to enjoy it for what it is.
Then lets hope we get to see darkseid, braniac, and doomsday when the new superman movies come out.

CONO [frick]!

This bitching back and forth.....Shit we already know were we all stand with the mother [frick]ing show.

It is what it is!

We have the haters and we have fans of it. Again I admit there's various moments where they [frick]ed up but at the end it gives us that weekly comic book crack phin hit. Regarding last night the episode in my opinion was a 8. I love every part of the show especially the last 10 mins or so. The CGI Darkseid, yes we all know the past experience with Doomsday. The glimpse of Dseid wasn't that bad. It would have been better if they included the red eyes. At the end I believe Darkseid will only operate from behind the scenes and not any full physical appearance. Regarding the suit, again it's been confirmed at sdcc. The suit is actually the one from Returns but with a few minor alterations. I love how Jor-el is holding the suit in the FOS. I think it was Jor-el pretending to be Pa Kent. I believe he wants Clark to prove him wrong, prove his worth. And that's why I believe the suit is hanging in the FOS. Once Clark overcomes his human emotions of pride and wrath then he become the MOS. So JorEl knows Clark will listen to Pa Kent more. It seems like a bad cop/good cop.

Overnight ratings

Smallville got a 2.9 and beat FOX and ABC in the demo for 18-49

Hey guys, I got an info that along the season, he'll possess random person's body... Which sounds bad to me :S
marvel72
marvel72 - 9/25/2010, 4:44 PM
is that actually what darkseid looks like on smallville.

why are they wasting such a classic villain on such a shit show.

also they should save darkseid for a justice league movie, hold on a second dc doesn't want to make a justice league movie.

f*ck i suppose they just want to waste their money making shit like smallville.
YogiDonnie

Does anyone think it looks more like Mongul and not Darkseid?
Superman4
Superman4 - 9/25/2010, 7:58 PM
Looks neat. Can't wait to see what he's like at the end. I think there was a story about Darkseid in the comics where he possesed peoples bodies until he was strong enough to materialize his own.
IronicMan
IronicMan - 9/25/2010, 9:12 PM
@bigchief16, I agree. Smallville is good, way better than Superman Returns, same with Welling being light years better than Routh. Seriously "@Leee777," if you don't have anything useful to say, step off. There are people who actually like the show, and understand it as a unique take on some beloved characters. It's better than most other versions of Superman.

@yourmomnaked yeah ok that picture proves your point but the picture u posted makes him look terrible. I'm just hoping that they make him look better than the picture u just posted. But I'm with superguy1591 nerdgasm with the suit especially when he went to get it and was wanting to put it on
YourMomNaked
YourMomNaked - 9/27/2010, 5:23 AM
@WaylonJones...it doesn't look any worse then the sand form face from the multi million dollar film The Mummy ;p You have to keep things in perspective; it's an early mist form, it's made for TV and it has a limited budget that has to cover 22 episodes. If you expect too much, then you'll be disappointed. Even big budget movie CGI doesn't pay off all the time, either.
