I was very surprised that they killed Jimmy Olsen in Smallville's season finale, "Doomsday." But the Jimmy we have been seeing is not the Jimmy from the mythology.

But then again, he is because a anonymous copy boy that resembled Jimmy makes a cameo in Action Comics #6, but the character called Jimmy Olsen first appeared in the radio show, The Adventures of Superman (radio)|The Adventures of Superman, on April 15, 1940. The character moved from the radio show into the comics in 1941, first appearing in Superman v1 #13 (1941. In Smallville, Aron Ashmore's Jimmy is called, Henry James Olsen; when in the mythology, his name is James Bartholomew Olsen. At the ending of Smallville Doomsday, Chloe gives Jimmy's little brother a Camera that belonged to his brother; the real Jimmy Olsen. This kid looked exactly like the mythology's Jimmy Olsen. Besides, mythology Jimmy was young. So in season 9, expect him to be wearing a watch to contact Superman.
