Set in a futuristic world where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots, a cop is forced to leave his home for the first time in years to investigate the murders of others' surrogates.

Surrogates is directed by action filmmaker Jonathan Mostow, of Breakdown, U-571, and Terminator 3 previously. Its based on Robert Venditti's graphic novel of the same name. Disney will be bringing Surrogates to theaters everywhere on September 25th this year.

It does look very like SCC. And just sort of samey. But the whole movie looks like that to me, its been done to death the idea of artificial humans and downloading consciousness. Hopefully this will be more original than it looks.

Now unless im wrong, which feel free to correct me, the plot point of the movie is incredible dumb, and i can only think of one possible reason for it to work. From the trailer Human can now look exactly like they want, have no issues of obesity, disease, aging, hunger or even death. We can now also perform amazing feats that would never have been possible in our bodies. BUT OH NO, theres this one thing that can actually kill us through our surrogate bodies! Well we better get rid of them then.

Sooooo give up "perfection" because one thing can possible kill u if u happen to run into these "bad guys". Living in our bodies where thousands of things can kill us is the best solution.....

The only way i see this working is if this "threat" could be used "easily" on mass scale.

Wow I'm gone for a week and all this news to catch up on! It does seem similar to SCC picture, but I dunno about this one. I'm not really interested in the plot so much, I imagine I'll be waiting for it to pop on DVD or HBO.

And good call Rorschach!
