The Flash season 2 has found its Mama West. According to Variety, Vanessa Williams (Melrose Place, Soul Food, Murder One, Candyman) has joined the cast of the CW series as Iris West’s (Candice Patton) mother and Joe West’s (Jesse L. Martin) wife. All details relating to her character - including which episode she'll debut in - are being kept under wraps for now, but DC Comic history might provide some clues as to her exact identity.

Though her name on the show isn't specified, Mrs. West could turn out to be one of two characters: Nadine West, or Fran Russel - who was the biological mother of Iris from the thirteenth century. Hey, now that time travel and alternate realities have been introduced, anything's possible!

We've had no hints about why Iris' mother might have been out of the picture thus far, but don't expect it to be something as simple as "she left the Country for a while".

The Flash season two premieres Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. on The CW.

Who's complaining about not getting what they want? I was just pointing out how silly Lash, especially his hair, looked. And Thor has been shitty since TDW. Ragnarok isn't going to change that.

How do I rag on anything Marvel-related? The only things I bash from Marvel are the way they are handling Thor, their villains and at times, AOS. I pretty much enjoy everything else.
