The Flash has already started racing into many theaters across the globe, but as more critics are given the opportunity to watch the DCEU movie, its Rotten Tomatoes score has taken a hit.
This is subject to change again in the coming days, of course, but since the embargo lifted, The Flash has mostly hovered around 72%.
With 193 reviews counted as we write this, it's now dipped to 68%. It would have to fall to 59% to be deemed "Rotten," but that doesn't seem too likely unless there's a massive influx of negative verdicts in the coming days.
For now, The Flash sits right between Aquaman (65%) and Zack Snyder's Justice League (71%), but seeing as the former ended up making over $1 billion in 2018, the Scarlet Speedster may not need to sweat percentages!
Current opening weekend box office projections point to a haul of around $70 million in North America which is, again, similar to Aquaman. It's also in the same range as Black Adam, making it very difficult to predict just how far the Fastest Man Alive's legs will take him in the weeks ahead.
In terms of competition, The Flash will have to fend off Pixar's Elemental but is mostly free and clear until Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny arrives on June 30.
It's worth noting that The Flash's current Audience Score is 95%, but that's based on only "50+" verified ratings. There may be another disconnect between critics and regular moviegoers based on these current figures.
"Far from the greatest superhero movie ever made and not quite among the worst," we said in our review, "The Flash is still another mediocre effort from the DCEU with appalling VFX and a messy story that the excellent Michael Keaton and Sasha Calle alone are unable to save."
The Flash is now playing in theaters.
