Brad Pitt as The Mighty Thor?!?!

Brad Pitt as The Mighty Thor?!?!

So I love comic book rumors and I decided to add on to the Brad Pitt/Thor rumor. What do you think?

So I will take full credit in the rumor of Johnny Depp as The Riddler in Batman 3. I started that rumor on the message boards a while back and I thought it was pretty funny and pretty cool. Now I am going to add to the internet rumor that Brad Pitt is interested in playing Thor in the Thor movie soon.

I found this info on a web a little bit ago.
--"Apparently Marvel is very interested in seeing Brad Pitt hold the big Hammer. This would be an interesting, but ultimately favorable choice, as PItt was extremely badass in a similar role as Achilles in 2004’s Troy. Pitt certainly has the chops for a role like Thor"

Now I don't know if I agree with the badass-ness in Troy but I agree that Pitt could play Thor, I wouldn't mind. He looked good with long hair in Troy and he would look good with long hair in Thor. Go Pitt GO!

Doesn't it scare you guys that no Brad Pitt movie has done good in the box office? at least not because of him (the Ocean's relied on a lot of actors, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith had Angelina). There has been zero blockbuster Brad Pitt movies, there has got to be a reason for that, although I can't put my finger on it.

He does have the visuals, although I always pictured Thor with rougher facial features.

I agree w/ the rougher facial features.

thor is a god, and when people thing of gods, they think of glorious, pretty, heavenly beings, usually.

but Thor is not your average God. he's a Norse God.

God to the [frick]ing vikings, who slaughtered their enemies mercilessly, and lived for war.

Brad Pitt has the acting abilities, i think. but to make it better, i think that they should add a few prosthetic scars or something to make him look even more badass.

well theres also probably a reason that those movies you did mention noobmike sucked ass! hes much better when hes involved in something a bit low key..the assassination of jesse james is a masterpiece but nobody saw it..burn after readings good too. like i already said he was terrible in troy..i dont know, maybe he under performs when the big bucks are involved

If you are right rorschach, then this would make a really lousy casting choice. This will be extremely big budget, so he could probably give his worst performance ever. (Maybe there could be an equation, on one side cash input on the other side Pitt's acting, the more cash you put in the less acting he does).

Brad Pitt would make an awful Thor.
In Troy he basically played himself while everyone around him put themselves into the character they were supposed to be. The fight scenes were good but Thor needs to have a commanding presence, which Pitt lacks.

Burn After Reading was good but Pitts character is very different from this. He was surprisingly funny and the movie itself was ok but not great. The best part was the end, which I wont ruin for anyone.

My vote is for Kevin McKidd so far out of the rumors Ive heard. He can definately play the type of character, and the fact that he is older I think is a benefit because Thor is commanding and powerful. He should be older, wiser and ultimately a Norse God. Check out the series Rome and see how well he plays the character.

There's a movie called Beowulf and Grendel. It stars Gerard Butler. Check it out. The entire cast of that movie would be perfect for a Thor movie. With Butler as Thor. I would have thought of him at first either, but check it out and then tell me what you think. Also in the movie is Stellen Skaarsgard (I think that's how you spell it) He'd make the perfect Odin.

yeah ive seen it, i thought it was very good. and i agree that butler and skarssgard would be great in a thor movie

Pitt is an awesome actor, Fight club proved that hands down.
As long as the script and director are good this is a great casting choice,
but if the script is weak he's just gonna end up lookin corny as shit.
He isn't quite as BIG as I'd like Thor to be in a movie, Pitt is quite lean where as I always think Thor has a body more like Broc Lesner or a WWE Wrestler.

NO! For the love of the Gods, do not insult Thor by putting Brad Pitt in the role. I'm not anti-Pitt, but come on; it's Thor! Put out a Hollyweird bulletin calling actors who're at least 6 1/2 ft tall bodybuilders who fit Thor's description. Superb acting skills a must. Give a newbie a shot! Use your brains or give me the job! I can find you Thor!

No way for Pitt as Thor! He was good in Troy but what kind of attempt of an accent was that? When they were first talking about this role I always thought Kevin Mckidd would play the perfect Thor. I do think Gerard Butler should be the next Conan though.
