Besides Tom Hiddleston attending a Thor: The Dark World promotional event in Beijing, thirty-minutes of footage was shown. A description of that footage was posted weibo.com (in Chinese) and then translated by thormovies.tumblr.com. Note: I went in and cleaned it up the best that I could. Enjoy!

Just watched a 30-minute clip. It is composed of many smaller clips, so the plot is not consistent.

It begins with Loki wearing handcuffs in Asgard. Guards escort Loki to Odin’s throne where Frigga tells Loki not to repeat his past mistakes. Loki retorts what is “repeat?" To punish Loki, Odin informs him that he will be permanently locked away in a dungeon, and tells him that his brother Thor will be the king.

Then the scene cuts to Thor and the Warrior Three fighting in a village. Thor and Sif have a banter. Sif is seen shielding herself from an arrow. The scene concludes with Thor smashing a stone-like creature (Kronan).

Next up, a brief dialogue scene between Thor and Heimdall, as they look at the stars from the end of the Bifrost (Rainbow Bridge).

Cut to London: Jane is on a date, with a man. Darcy comes interrupts the date by telling Jane that her machine is active once more. A nearby television surprises them with a report that Dr. Selvig has been arrested for streaking at Stonehenge.

Cut to dungeon: Loki shouts to his mom, “He’s not my father!" Frigga asks him “So, I am not your mother, either?” Loki tries to be calm down, and his emotionless reply, “You are not." Frigga reaches out to Loki, and Loki reaches out to her, but it's revealed that the moment isn't real. (Sorry, that scene is a tad confusing in the transcription)

Jane and Darcy are next seen in a police station picking up Selvig. As they leave the station they see birds in the sky disappear, and then suddenly the birds come up from their feet. Dr. Selvig says, "This world is crazier than he I am."

Captives from the village scene and Loki, are all shown locked in their cells. One of the village captives pulls a hammer from his belly. He breaks out of his cell and releases the other prisoners. In doing so he kills many of the Asgardian soldiers. When the creature passes by Loki's cell, their eyes meet, and Loki tells him, "You'd better go the left stairs."

Next, Dark Elves' aircraft is seen invading Asgard. The Asgardians respond with anti-aircraft weapons. The leader of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, Malekith the Accursed, busts through the Asgardian palace.

Cut to Thor, the Warrior Three and Heimdall, having a discussion, trying to figure out how to get Jane out of Asgard. They know that Loki knows the secret passage, so Thor goes to Loki for help. Something happens in which Sif saves Jane, and then we see Jane slap Loki when she first meets him. Heimdall creates a diversion. Guards spot them, so Sif decides to stick around to fend them off. Sif gives Loki a warning, telling him not to betray them. They then come to Malekith's aircraft, where Volstagg sticks around to block the oncoming soldiers. Volstagg also warns Loki not to betray them.

Loki, Thor and Jane hop on the aircraft, and then Jane passes out. Something teasing takes place between Thor and Loki, and then when they arrive at some destination all three hop out of aircraft and into some other vehicle. This vehicle is used to take them through the secret passage.

When they arrive at the Dark World, with hopes of negotiating a peace, Loki asks Thor to loosen his handcuffs. Thor does so, and Loki quickly draws out a knife and stabs Thor. The God of Thunder rolls down a hillside. Loki follows after him and kicks Thor in the head. Thor calls for his hammer, Mjölnir, as he goes to reach for it Loki cuts off his right hand (bone is plainly visible).

I reckon Thor loses his hand early then regains it via magic later.

I agree he probably gets his hand back from magic, but I am personally hoping he gets it replaced with the Destroyer arm.

I dont think IF his hand gets cut off that it will magically be replaced.

Then ppl are going to start wondering why didnt they magically replace Odin's eye?

It seems like a Loki is pulling a trick to get Malekith to remove the dark energy from Jane. Remember in one tv spot Loki says "This plan of yours could get us both killed" . Once Malekith removes the dark energy from jane, Thor suits up and they fight Malekith, Kurse and the Dark Elves and escape. That's how I see it.

Sine that I'm not to familiar with Thor and the whole asgardian physiology..shouldn't his skin/tissue be durable enough to withstand blade penatration? I'm really confused can someone pls clarify if that's just how they are doing it in the movies? To sort of "power him down". Is Thor really that easy to injure? Does it have to do with the "asgardian metal" that Loki is utilizing which is why it's easily hurting Thor? Can someone from earth stab him like that? Can someone please explain, because to be shanked with such a small blade and fall to the ground is a little "low" for the (GOD OF THUNDER)

@mcnyagano

Thats what i was thinking ... Loki is up to his tricks again and it plays out that he cut Thor's hand(an illusion), to help get the dark energy out of Jane. I hope then we see Kurse vs Thor at that scene, while Loki is fighting off the Dark elves, meanwhile Malekith escapes to London with Thor shortly follows. Leading to the Thor vs Malekith fight, but anybody thinking Thor is going to lose his hand, its not going to happen, just watch scenes from the finally fight on all these Tv spots.

@Marvel1997

Yes Thor can be stab! Loki stabbed but we really dont know what kindve of knife he used to do we dont know(maybe some kind of dark magic).
But by humans I seriously doubt, see as he been thrown around the forest, though the helicarrier, went though a holding cell that was for the Hulk, though NY buildings, all these without a scratch.

I hope it's some sort of illusion by Loki to make Malekith think he's still a villain and then boom Loki and Thor team up and fvck them all up.

it'd be such an awesome twist to find out he still has his hand and Loki is still good. (somewhat)

still hope Jane dies tho

I'm all for the illusion theory. Seems odd to have an Avenger with one missing hand. It would totally be Loki to craft this illusion. He's got schemes !
JoJo1982
JoJo1982 - 10/11/2013, 1:15 PM
Loki cutting off Thor's hand(1 of Loki's illusion) is all part of their plan to make Malekith think Loki is still evil...I guess Loki is going to actually do some good

dont believe me?

look at the scenes with Thor fighting Malekith in their final fight..... clearly shows his hand is still attached

@JoJo- How do you know that, that is the "final" battle between Thor and Malekith. I think Thor gets his hand cut off and replaced by The Destroyers hand just like the comics in his last story arc.

I dont know but you can pretty put the pieces together if you watch all tv spots, trailers, andd reports of seeing footages.

Loki, Thor, and Jane escape going to I dont know where
(shown in tv spots and trailers)
Malekith, Kurse, and Dark elves finds them in some world
(shown in tv spot, pics, trailers)
Scene of Loki cutting off Thor's hand at the same area
(saw that at SDCC)
Malekith fighting Thor alone, while some kind of Dark energy manifest in London
(shown in Tv spots, trailers, etc...)
JoJo1982
JoJo1982 - 10/11/2013, 1:46 PM
its soo obvious Malekith gets the Dark energy from Jane and attacks London afterwards

where Thor follows and they fight

Why do I feel we're being Hellboy'd(?) on this. Hard to tell in the awesome gif provided by McNyagano, but it looks almost like Mjolnir makes it to Thors hand, then it cut off. Are they gonna jump the shark (like with the zero gravity BS to lift Mjolnir) and let anyone lift the hammer as long as Thors "worthy" hand "holds" it.
Just brainstorming...
