On Location Vacation has filming locations for a couple of films shooting today, Wednesday. Marvel's Thor is on the list, and has an insider on what they are filming for the mighty Thor.

Thor: FYI: I got an interesting bit of information from an anonymous tipster last night. They said that Thor, which is currently filming at Raleigh Manhattan Beach Studios, Manhattan Beach, CA, is shooting a big scene today involving lots of extras who will be playing guards and cadets.

It seems this big scene must involve the reckless actions of Thor, causing an ancient War, ragnarok. To find out how Ragnarok went down in actually Norse Mythology, click the pic below.

Um, Cool? I'm a bit worried if they're going to do the Ragnorok story already.

Well, Ragnarok has already happened in the Marvel Universe at least once that I know of. Remember the 'Ragnarok-and-Roll' storyline from the Simonson run in the 80's? It didn't come to it's conclusion(current world ending, all the gods dying, etc) then, probably going to be something like that.

would def be some cool visuals, esp with Branagh directing.

"extras who will be playing guards and cadets."

Excuse me but that has [frick] ALL to do with Ragnarok. "Guards and Cadets" and you guys jump to the Ragnarok conclusion??? Like the army can't be present in any other event??? I guess that missile that exploded in Starks' face in the first Ironman meant the beginning of Ragnarok. It had to be sent by the gods. The soldiers being shot at were actually being gunned down by evil gods that kick started Ragnarok. That's the only logical explanation.

Shaman is right. This scene is definitely a tie in to modern day Earth, not Ragnarok. I highly doubt "Guards and Cadets" will be fighting in Ragnarok. This scene is probably what Thor does to be bannished.

Also keep in mind that movies don't neccessarily film in the order of the movie. Sometimes they'll film the end, then the beginning, and then the middle, then fix it all during editing.

I agree about it most likely having nothing to do with Ragnarok, but...correct me if I'm wrong, isn't "the ragnarok cycle" a concept in the comics that involves the Norse gods existing, battling in Ragnarok and dying, then being reborn in a new form only to begin Ragnarok again?

That is what they explained in Thor Disassembled. It was the explanation as to why they went through Ragnarok back in the 80's and again a few years ago. However, if you read Thor Disassembled, you know that Thor himself ended that cycle.
