First Look At THOR: RAGNAROK's Awesome Surtur Funko Pop! Collectible Figure

Naturally, a Funko Pop! figure won't be 100% representative of how Surtur will look in Thor: Ragnarok but it does give a general idea of the aesthetic Marvel and Taika Waititi are aiming for.

At last year's San Diego Comic-Con, it was widely reported that Surtur was glimpsed in the sizzle reel shown but the first official trailer for Thor: Ragnarok kept the fiery ruler absent (although it appears Thor first appears chained up in Muspelheim). Now, we have our first look at a brand new Funko Pop! figure from the film, which provides a general idea of how Surtur will look.

Do you think Surtur will be a focal point of Marvel's SDCC plans this year? And will footage actually make its way online? We'll all have to wait and see what Kevin Feige and co. bring to Hall H this year.

UPDATE: More Funko Pop! figures for Ragnarok have been revealed.

Thor's world is about to explode in Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok. His devious brother, Loki, has taken over Asgard, the powerful Hela has emerged to steal the throne for herself and Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe. To escape captivity and save his home from imminent destruction, Thor must first win a deadly alien contest by defeating his former ally and fellow Avengers... The Incredible Hulk!

So is Surtur going to be the end of movie villain. Kind of like Dormmamu.

@MasterMix -

I think the idea is that Surtur forged the weapon Hela uses to burn Asgard - in exchange for her delivering Thor to him.

The scene was shown in comic-con with Hulk & Thor battling Surtur, so presumably this is before the pair reach Asgard as one of their adventures.

In terms of a villain structure, i expect the following;

(possible spoilers)

- Thanos (Secret villain, barely scene, used to tease Infinity War)
- Hela (Main Villain, Destroys Asgard, Steals Soul Stone for Thanos)
- Surtur (Minor villain, provides Hela with sword, battles Thor and Hulk)
- Fenris Wolf (Minor villain, battles Hulk Hela during the final battle)

@ConnorHawkeye - Kinda reminds me of Diablo's transformation in Suicide Squad...sorry if that ruins it for you.

@ConnorHawkeye - looked more like this at comic con last year:

Of course what I had seen was simply concert art, and it was only up for like four seconds, and that was like a year ago, so my memory of it isn't the greatest. But it wasn't really skeletal like the pop figure represents.

Such a great model for one of Thor's most under rated villains. I will be getting this pop to add to the collection. I really am looking forward to Ragnarok. This fall is going to be amazing! Thor, Justice League, and Star Wars all in the matter of like 3 months. Great times to be a nerd in film.
