RUMOR: Mantis Could Play A Role In Tying GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 With THOR: RAGNAROK
A new rumor has surfaced revealing a very interesting plot detail that could potentially tie together two of Marvel's biggest 2017 releases - Thor: Raganarok & Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2!
That Hashtag Show, best known for breaking the Iron Fist casting earlier this year, is back at it today with a pretty interesting new rumor regarding Marvel's Thor: Raganarok, which is currently filming in Australia. According to their sources at Marvel, at some point during the film, the dynamic duo of Thor & the Hulk will encounter an ancient alien race known as the Cotati, which could tie together Ragnarok with one of Marvel's other major 2017 releases.
In the comics, the Cotati are best known for being directly responsible for awakening the powers within Mantis, a character that's set to make her cinematic debut in James Gunn's Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 in May. They're typically depicted as being a stationary plant-like species who tend to rely on their telepathic abilities, but it seems as though, the film versions will look somewhat similar to the character played by Pom Klementieff.
That Hashtag Show was unable to obtain confirmation on whether or not Klementieff will actually reprise her role as Mantis for Thor: Ragnarok, but it's certainly not out of the question with the film's release date still over a year away. Also, considering that the Cotati originate on the planet Hala, a.k.a. the homeworld of the Kree, it's a pretty safe bet that the God of Thunder and the Green Goliath will likely be paying a visit to Hala while on their universal road trip.
