Christopher Eccleston has never shied away from making his feelings about Thor: The Dark World clear and in another new interview, the British actor has once again expressed his hatred for the movie. It's not the only blockbuster to come under fire, though, as he also tears into the critically panned G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. That scored bad reviews but performed moderately well at the box office, while the Thor sequel was far from rotten and actually ended up being a fairly sizeable hit for Marvel Studios.
"Working on something like G.I. Joe was horrendous," Eccleston said, reflecting on his role as lead villain Laird James McCullen XXIV, a.k.a. Destro. "I just wanted to cut my throat every day. And Thor? Just a gun in your mouth." So, it's fair to say he wasn't a fan of either of these projects then.
"Gone in 60 Seconds was a good experience," he added, making it clear that not all of his Hollywood experiences have been bad. "Nic Cage is a gentleman and fantastic actor. But G.I. Joe and Thor were… I really paid for being a whore those times." These comments are definitely interesting but is there more to them than meets the eye? After all, it's feasible that Eccleston is bitter over the fact he essentially failed in Hollywood and no longer appears to be getting any offers from major studios.
