One of the new images to be shown during the Thor "Big Game" trailer was the creature below roaring at our favorite thunder god.



I then recalled seeing a creature shown in the upcoming Thor Video game that looked to be the same thing.


Both creatures looked odd but kind of familiar. Being a big Thor fan I was hoping this monster would have some foundation in the comic and not a case of add Rancor here just to have something to club with hammer.In the early Thor comic series trolls were shown to be large headed creatures with long thin arms and legs.

Could this be a Kirby tribute creature design?

um dude. that's either or one the tougher ice giants Thor fights or the ice Giant King Jotunheim ... just going by the script

with everything tht happened because of it n hw it fits with everything we have seen bout this movie i'm quite willing 2 believe it is the real script

also without the script we kno he fights with frost giants n then gets cast to earth so he is never anywere 2 fight a troll

Its definitely not a frost giant, but its most likely a creature from jotunheim. its
blue like the frost giants and has the same red eyes as the frost giants. I heard
some people say its Fafnir. I dont think it could be because Fafnir is big time
villain and you would need time in the story to develop the character. A troll is
a good guess. hopefully its a creature from the comics not just some made up
beast.

look at the trailer and the tv spot..you can see alot of changes..the hall of asgard, asgard it's self. and the Frost Giants are actually HUGE (the scene with Hemsworth gettint he hammer back after throwin it) look at the giant next to him

Well the creature is def on Jotunheim obviously, and if you pause the superbowl trailer at the point where it exactly shows the big creature you can see a frost giant standing at the lower left of the screen, so I dunno if its a different form of a frost giant or what but this movie will be EPICCCCC

I was reported months ago that there would be frost giants and then "Old School" bigger frost giants. I think this is one of those bigger ones...essentially a heavy-hitter.
