THOR: RAGNAROK: Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Won't Reveal Why Lady Sif Doesn't Appear

It's now been confirmed that Jaimie Alexander's Sif won't be making an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok but when Kevin Feige was recently quizzed on why that might be, his answer was unexpectedly cryptic.

There's been speculation for a while now about whether or not we'll see The Warriors Three and Sif in Thor: Ragnarok and while Screen Rant has now confirmed that the fan-favourite trio do appear in the movie, there is indeed no sign of Lady Sif. Chances are that's because Jaimie Alexander is busy with Blindspot but Kevin Feige refused to provide a specific reason when asked about her absence.

In fact, his answer is downright cryptic and with clearly no mention of the character in the threequel (the interview would have seen the movie before speaking to Feige), we're now seriously confused.

"You’re the second person to ask me that question today," Feige said, "and I will quote Maz Kanada from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, 'that is a good question for another time.' Is that the quote? It’s pretty close to that." So, what does that mean? Is he dodging the question because Alexander didn't want to return or will her absence be explained in Avengers: Infinity War? It's hard to say right now.

As a result, Sif's big screen future remains very much up in the air but it's not looking good. What do you guys think about Feige's bizarre comments? Let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

@ODanil - Is it? Is it reaaaallly a spoiler to say something isn't in the movie..

@Deonox -

It is in this case, a highly prominent member of Thor's group is missing from the movie where Asgard may be destroyed.

@Scarilian - I mean..... c'mon. This is mr fantastic levels of stretching. Darcy isn't in the movie, and she's had more screen time then Sif. Saying Darcy isn't in this movie isn't a spoiler, because it doesn't spoil the actual contents of the movie. It just means don't expect a certain element. Saying Bucky isn't in Black Panther, isn't a spoiler, because that doesn't reveal anything about the plot. Saying sif died, would be a spoiler but we're grasping at mcflurry straws

Awesome. I was afraid they were just writing her out of the universe. Shit goes down in this film.

Somebody just watched Force Awakens before he gets to see his early studio insider screening of Last Jedi, it seems.

I see you, Kevin.

@Spock0Clock - Well, he is a Star Wars superfan. :) Favreau did a podcast with Nerdist where he talked about how he and Feige visited the Lucas Ranch and during the tour, Feige knew every bit of "artifact" before the curator could say what it was, he'd be like "oh, that's the belt that Chewie's second cousin twice removed wore in *some obscure spin-off*". I could definitely see him heading up Lucasfilm someday.

Don't know if this has been mentioned somewhere already, but UK magazine SFX has a Punisher review in its latest issue (must have went to print before the series was postponed). Gave it 4 and a half stars out of 5.

Not a fan of her character. They made her sweat Thor just a little to much. I'll tak Valkyrie any day though

Considering the Russos are pulling any female characters they can from each respective solo series [to Infinity War]... I wouldn't be surprised if Sif was one of them. Although we obviously haven't seen or heard anything on that yet.
