In the following video interview Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston talk about where Thor and Loki may end up in a third Thor movie. Obviously they have to take into account that Avengers: Age Of Ultron will happen first, but they have a few ideas. Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings also briefly comment..with the latter hoping for a scene between her character Darcy and Loki. And finally Kevin Feige adds that while shooting Thor: The Dark World, a few ideas on where the third flick could go were thrown around. Nothing about Thor: The Dark World is discussed in too much detail, but there are a few hints about certain things so mild SPOILERS WARNING.

SPOILERThey should've kept Loki dead so Thor can die in A2 and we see them both in Hell in Thor 3 bringing in Surtur.

I hope we see 20 Thor movies. Awesome character. Funny thing is, before i heard Marvel was developing the first Thor movie, I had no clue about his story, I actually thought Thor was a DC character.

I do hope we see these characters again in a third movie, it is a great franchise with many interesting characters to further develop. Do hope that the focus isn't too centered on Loki though as it is titled Thor for a reason

Do they have room for Thor 3? Phase 3 has Ant-Man and 3 more movies: Dr. Strange and Black Panther have to happen and they have two Inhumans comics right now which means that we will get an Inhumans movie. I guess they will secure another date in 2017 for Thor 3? And Avengers 3 in 2018?? Sounds good to me!

@Charlie Inhumans will probably be connected to Guardians so it might be like a sequel. I also remembered that Sony announced TASM 4 for May 2018 and I guess Marvel would want Avengers 3 then which means that we might get some more solo films in 2018 and the final movie on May 2019.

BTW what happened to Odin in the end? Did Loki just pretend to be him or did he imprison him or something? That wasn't clear.

@Pharaoh - completely agreed!

I really don't get it. They have all these awesome characters and locations to flesh out and explore, and they spend time and resources on giving the comic relief sidekick who never leaves Earth a comic relief sidekick, so that they together can search for a guy who nowadays doesn't like wearing pants. I want Darcy's sidekick to be wiped from existence, I actually liked Darcy in this one and I liked that she was filling in for Jane while Jane was in Asgard and Selvig was bat shit crazy but her sidekick, a waste of screentime (couldnt he have been an undercover SHIELD agent keeping an eye on Jane?!) and a waste of a paycheck that could have been spent on making the battle of Vanaheim slightly longer with more screentime for the Warriors Three!

And Thor The Dark World opens tonnes of possibilities for the MCU. when the realms were converging, Red Skull could have returned to Earth, Surtur could have fallen through to Beta Ray Bill's world, Loki could have been resurrected by Surtur so Loki could dispatch Odin and Surtur could begin his major plan. Next movie needs to be Thor and the Warriors Three Vs Surtur and his puppets Loki, Enchantress & the Executioner

You people are the reason why Hollywood is dishing out these lazy attempts at blockbuster movies. Thor: The Dark world is by no means one of the best comic book movies created. In fact, this movie is the same as the original; very mediocre. The story is straight forward and the plot is thinly scripted. This movie could of been a TV movie and still have the same positive reaction to what everyone is giving.

The entire portrayal of the Thor comic mythology is completely disrespected as the studio decided to go this sci-fi approach to the story. I barely see any magic in the film, instead of spaceships, machine guns, and rocket launchers. They even have the viking ships flying by engines (seriously!)

Instead of seeing Shakespeare in space, I should be seeing Lord of the rings in space because when I think of Thor, I think Epic Fantasy Adventure, not a half-butt
Star Trek Voyage. The movie is a 3/10 for me.

I have no hope for Doctor Strange after watching this.

@godzilla0000433

"You people". Sooooo....you didn't go see Thor or the sequel? You gave them your money but it's "you people". As far as your comments regarding the film, I won't even address them because I have not yet seen the film. You talk about what "you SHOULD be seeing" and then blame everyone else but yourself for what is clearly your own expectations and perceptions of what the film should be. It's not the fault of "you people" that you will only accept one version of the story and, when that doesn't happen, you blame everyone else for your own expectations and perceptions. "You people". That's always the way it is. Someone has a problem and, instead of looking in the mirror to address and solve it, they look out the window to find someone, anyone, else to blame. I truly hope this was some mentally deficient attempt to troll because, if you're serious, you have more problems than basing too much of your life on the petty disappointment you have with a film about fictional characters.

Ggodzilla0000433 - I´m glad they HAVE Viking ships and viking funerals.

and about the comics, i remember Asgard being in space, and coexist with Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock, the Eternals and all the other Marvel cosmic beings.

Id love to see a new villian. Surtur would be cool.

And how about no Loki? A super hero facing the same super villian in every movie is never a good idea.

And while we are at it how about an X-Men film without Magneto?

I'm still trying to figure out how they've made two Thor films without Balder the Brave, Enchantress or Hela. Some of these other characters people are mentioning like Beta Ray Bill (stupid idea and character if you ask me, I totally missed him during my Thor reading coming up) are better left ignored. Only characters rooted in Norse mythology should be focused on. Of course, the villains who made only periodic appearances are okay for a third installment. So I can see Surtur in a Ragnorak story line with the Executioner worked in as Hela's henchman. But the thing is Balder, Enchantress and Hela were staples of the Thor world. Why they are being left out so far, I don't understand. I guess the whole focus on creating a shared universe with the other Avengers characters made them chose in favor of Darcy and Selvig and Jane Foster etc. But if they ever do a reboot of the franchise, I'd really like to see a more Norse Mythology based world with the core characters like Odin, Baldor, Warriors Three, Sif, Loki, Enchantress, Hela etc being developed into more round characters.

Why do people keep mentioning Black Panther in Phase 3 like it's a lock. We haven't even gotten solid confirmation of Dr. Strange (solid meaning listed by MCU and not named dropped by an actor or director).

If successful which is likely, we will see Thor 3 and Cap 3.

So far the likely locks for Phase 3 are
Ant-Man
Thor 3
Captain America 3
Avenger 3

Probable and likely:
Dr. Strange
GotG 2

My hope is that they throw in three extra movies:
Black Panther
Ms. Marvel
Another team movie (Heroes For Hire or Defenders)

But that would mean Marvel would need to add a movie a year or stretch Phase 3 to four years and keep two movies a year.

gODZILLA: And remember they DID adress the "magical" aspect of Thor, when they opened the film 1000 years ago in Norway, thus the idea of the natives thinking of Asgardians as "GODS"

Am I the only one who thinks Ironman 4 would be a good idea? C'mon I mean OK Ironman 3 sucked ass but they can make an ironman movie good again. Remember Ironman. Forget IM2 and IM3 and just make me a badass Ironman kicking ass from a giant monster. I'm talking about fing fang foom! He was referenced in Ironman 3 a couple of times. Who doesn't want to see Ironman battle a giant monster from the size of godzilla. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! And you can bring a story where Tony tries to find and investigate about his parent's death. Roxxon has an easter egg in IM3. Just saying.
