Paper Girls, an upcoming science fiction drama series based on the comic book of the same name by Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang, is set to premiere on Prime Video on July 29, and the streamer has now debuted the first footage via a brief teaser trailer.

The '80s-set show follows four paper girls named Erin, Mac, Tiffany, and KJ who become caught in the crossfire between warring time-travelers while out on their deliveries. Transported into the future, these friends must figure out a way to get back home to the past, a journey that will bring them face-to-face with the grown-up versions of themselves.

While reconciling that their futures are very different to the ones their 12-year-old selves imagined, they are hunted by a militant faction of time-travelers known as the Old Watch, who have outlawed time travel so that they can stay in power. In order to survive, the girls will need to overcome their differences and learn to trust each other, and themselves.

Check out the teaser below along with some posters, and let us know what you think.

Paper Girls stars Camryn Jones as Tiffany Quilkin, Riley Lai Nelet as Erin Tieng, Sofia Rosinsky as Mac Coyle, and Fina Strazza as KJ Brandman, with Ali Wong as the grown-up version of Erin, Nate Corddry as Larry, and Adina Porter as Prioress.

The show hails from Legendary Television, in association with Plan B, and is executive produced by Christopher C. Rogers, Stephany Folsom, Brian K. Vaughan, Cliff Chiang, and Plan B.

Enjoyed the first three volumes of the comics. I really gotta finish. This looks like it’s capturing the spirit well

Is this another multiverse movie? Cause if future self met her old self then she shouldn't be surprised since she already experienced it... unless there's some amnesia when she eventually goes back.

I don't know the comics or any of the cast outside of Wong. I'll still give this a watch though

Never read the comic but will give it a try.

Honestly surprised though that between the teen cast, 80s setting, lightening in a weird coloured sky and that music that plays over the title card, nobody has mentioned Stranger Things. Not a complaint at all, just an observation.
