The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke hinted that the upcoming third season of the Amazon Prime series would adapt the controversial Herogasm arc last year, and he recently confirmed that we'll see the massive superhero "gathering" during the sixth episode. Now, he's taken to Twitter to further tease the bonkers (no pun) storyline.
While Kripke didn't mention Herogasm by name (the accompanying image is a dead giveaway), he did reveal that he's just watched "the craziest [frick]ing dailies I've ever seen in my career. Or maybe anyone's career."
If you're unfamiliar with the source material, the Herogasm miniseries saw The Seven and most of the other supes meet up on an island to engage in some of the most debauched behaviour ever depicted in the comic book medium. Based on this Tweet, it doesn't sound like the show is going to hold much back.
Herogasm received backlash for several different reasons, but the show will likely tone down at least some of the horrendous shit that went on in the comic. One thing they will have no choice but to drop is Homelander tricking Soldier Boy into sleeping with him, because it's already been confirmed that Jensen Ackles will be playing a different take on the character; a John Wayne-like figure who was the "Homelander before Homelander."
What do you guys think? Looking forward to seeing Herogasm, or would you rather The Boys left that particular story arc alone?
