Deadline has revealed that David Morrissey has joined the cast of AMC's
The Walking Dead as The Governor. He will be a series regular in the third season of the show which is expected to air later this year. Fans of the comic book will know that the character makes life very difficult for Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors, although it's unclear just how much the small screen adaptation of Robert Kirkman's series will delve into the source material. Either way, this is fantastic news for fans of the comic and show alike.
