Some details on the fourth season of The Walking Dead are beginning to shuffle onto the net, and the latest tidbit from TV Line introduces us to three new faces that'll have to beware the biters when AMC's excellent series returns to our screens.

“The show could just as easily wind up being too busy with new recurring characters like Laura, a single mom and ex-nurse who isn’t quite as strong as she first appears; Melody, a ‘just one of the guys’ kinda gal in her 20s; and Don, who sounds like Hershel, if Hershel were crankier and two-legged.”

There was a character named Don in the comics (a King County Sheriff's deputy) but unless my memory is not what it used to be I don't think the other two are Robert Kirkman creations. Either way, It'll be interesting to see how they fit into the story as the tv show increasingly departs from comic book canon.

Season three was alright I think they were holding back on the Gov if you ask me.

I'll agree that the second half of the season dragged on. Too much of a holding pattern, with little threats of something happening. I'd rather go back to a dozen episodes if the extra ones are to just be filler.

Cant wait, the first half of season 3 was amazing the second half seems to tarnish the memory of this show.

LOL for most of season 3 I thought Sasha was Tyrese's daughter but she's actually his sister, big shock when I found that out.

The best episodes of season 3 were "clear" and the mid season finale(liked the Shane Cameo), but yeah after the mid season finale it kinda of when downhill and dragged.

@LoudLon

His missing eye seems like a good reason.

And you're right about a lackluster episode being better than 90% of what's on tv, but since I barely have time to watch 1% of what's on tv, I want far less lackluster episodes.

Great show,has yet to dissapoint.
I'm glad it strays a bit from comics..it becomes it's own thing that way.
Stays fresh & interesting.

You want the exact thing from the comics? Then read those books.
Both versions are killer.

@Ocelot

Clear was almost the worst episode just because it was SOOO good, right in the middle of a bunch of stagnant episodes. I really thought the one after that would be better than it was, but they lost the momentum Clear built up for the series.

@ Gusto that is actually an insult to all walkers!

@ Gusto

Though this is what Sara Jessica Parker would look like on the Walking Dead.

Black Acting School may be my favorite bit, but Keenan Ivory Wayans and his activator is up there too.

Yep it really felt like a random episode because it was a "clear" step up from everything else prior to it, the perfect episode with good writing. I actually thought it was going to be a boring episode after reading the synopsis and promo for it, but it turned out to be really good. Expected the episode after to be on the same level as "clear" but it reverted back to the standard prior to "clear" and post mid season, we got another lackluster episode that I barely even remember. Nevertheless it's still an interesting and good show but it would be better there were more episodes which have the same quality as "clear" and in vein of the first season.

@gusto - didn't you see the poster released for the next season? SJP isn't going to be a walker, she is Michonnes mount.

I liked all of last season except for the final episode. I know they want to flesh out more of the Governor and all but it just felt anti-climactic.

I bet they will introduce Abraham during the next season mid-finale.

if you've read the comic you know this show is dogshit.
Its time to let it die, the endeering characters are dead, rick acts like more of a psycho than the governor and the writting is just plain bad.
adding people with popular comic characters names is so wrong.
hell rick is barley even rick anymore.
might as well call him bi polar bob or something.

They should bring in the guy who played Sawyer on Lost... he'd be perfect to replace Merle.

Even if you are promoted to a regular cast member you still aren't safe from being killed off on this show. You people are crazy saying that season 3 was lackluster. I thought it was excellent and very suspenseful. My favorite part was the Governor's first attack on the prison. That had me yelling at the tv.
