Only a few more episodes remain until the finale, but something is telling me that next Sunday's episode might be the can't-miss-show of the season. The Walking Dead knows how to build tension like no other show on television, and this scene is no exception. When you see young Carl (Chandler Riggs) casually walking through the woods during a zombie apocalypse you can't help but feel the tension beginning to bubble.

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on AMC.

@batlizard11 - I agree. I'd like to think I'd be able to stay and fight, but probably not. Have you ever read "The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks? Great read and it's crazy good facts(?) about surviving a zombie apocalypse.

They showed the spot Rick "hid" Sophie earlier and it seemed important. Maybe that was the zombie that turned her? Just talking out my brain.

Batlizard@ as much as I would love there to be a real Zombie apocalypse, the idea of making eye contact with something that wants to eat my ass scares the bejesus outa me. LOL!

In the Walking Dead Comics they find out that they are already infected.

People keep asking about the zombie blood splattering in the eyes, mouth, open wounds, etc. It is addressed in the comics, not explained, but addressed. **SPOILER** I can't remember the catalyst for the circumstance, but Rick goes back to the Atlanta camp to dig up Shane and put a bullet in his head as he finds out that anyone who dies, regardless of how they died, will come back. It is somewhere in the prison story I believe as many people die there through non-zombie methods, then commence to return as walkers. Anyway, Rick's assumption is right and Shane is a walker buried... unalive? lol so Rick does him a a solid an puts a bullet in his head. Later again it is explored in the Hunters arc when the cannibals capture a party member who'd wandered off to die of a bite, and said cannibals eat parts of the infected party member(who hadn't yet turned) and themselves don't get fever. The leader of the cannibal party even speculates everyone is already infected anyway.

From my limited understanding of disease, I know that some people get sick and die while others can be carriers or in the rarest cases, completely immune. I speculate that a surprisingly small percentage of the population was vulnerable to the airborne/physical transmission. While nobody has appeared immune in the comics, it appears the rest of the population are carriers. But then why do bites turn the carriers? I dunno, maybe the bite doesn't actually carry some potent dose of the virus/bacteria/whatever. It's possible the bite merely acts to expedite death as I'd imagine the decaying maw of a human corpse would be rife with all manner of other harmful and potentially lethal bacteria which is transferred into the blood through the saliva. The bite victim actually dies of septicemia or something only to be reanimated by the virus. Think about it, in post apocalyptia, antibiotics are a rare luxury and a small cut we'd merely put neosporin and a band-aid on could be lethal in their situation, forget having a chunk of flesh torn from your body while smearing the wound with bacteria saturated human remains.

It has gotten to the point that every character on the show annoys me. However, Dale must die first AND soon.

White kids...if it ain't "Imma walk in the woods alone (and he's left alone for some reason) and throw sum ROCKS at this zombie" its "I'm gonna run out from under the car surrounded by zombies INTO the woods and then RUN DEEPER INTO THE WOODS after I'm told to stay put." So, what did the black kid from the beginning of the series do when he THOUGHT Rick was a zombie? He snuck up and bashed his f****** brains in with a meat mallet or an oar or whatever the hell that piece of hand carved mohagany was and called his daddy over the whole time looking like he was ready to bolt.

Avalanche@ cause the world is full of so many idiots, we're practically on the brink of self destruction anyway. A zombie apocylipse would just be a cool twist.

@ Avalanche73 - I'd love it so we could all start back at zero. Bills would go away (a la Fight Club), the obese would be wiped off the earth, etc, etc. Plus I'm prepared so I'm not worried.

"bills would go away" lol. How about you just pay your bills and create a life worth living?!?! Then you wouldn't have to worry about your current s****y life starting "back at zero" lol. The only people who REALLY want this to happen have either a)f***ed up their lives so bad they need a fresh start at the expense of everyone else on the planet who can actually get it right or b)mentally ill. Either way, it's fun to watch, but actually living it?!?! Nooooo

@BlueHawaiiSurfer Whoa buddy how about you going back to smoking all your weed?!?!?!?

My bills are paid and I'm not in debt well except student loans but whatever they'll be gone soon enough. My life is great and I have a fantastic job and all that. You may not want to jump to conclusions. I have no financial hardships or am a crazy person. Chill out man

All I hope for in the season finale is that Rick, Carl, and Shane take a walk in the forest together.
