THE WAKING DEAD: Get Ready To Adjust Your Sunday Plans This Week For An Extended Episode

You read that right! Game of Thrones isn't the only television show that can change its run-time on a whim, as this Sunday's The Walking Dead Season 9 Penultimate episode has been revealed to be a doozy!

The Walking Dead has an hour time slot and airs each week from 9 to 10 pm EST, just as it has since its release nine years ago. However, this week fans will be treated to extra bit of story due to the upcoming season finale and the arc the showrunners seem to be adapting from the comics.

The episode will run until 10:25 p.m. now, giving more room to set up whatever terrifying ending they have cooked up for us. Without commercials, the episode clocks in at a whopping 57 minutes. The synopsis for the episode, which is titled "The Calm Before" reads as follows.

The fair at the Kingdom is underway, with all four communities coming together in celebration for the first time in years. While some pacts are renewed, other deals will come at a much steeper price.

For people who haven't read the comics and don't want potential spoilers, avoid the next part of this article. If things do go down as expected in the next episode, fans of the comics will know that we may lose Rosita, Ezekiel, Tammy, Earl, and any other number of survivors as the infamous "The Pike" scene seems an inevitability at this point.

This story saw people kidnapped from the upcoming fair and killed by The Whisperers, the show's current villains. The heads of the slain are then left on - you guessed it - pikes.

Do you think we're going to see it play out this way on screen? And if so, who will be the victims? Let us know in the comments!

The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic survival series featuring a large ensemble cast of survivors of the zombie apocalypse, trying to stay alive from the near-constant threat of attacks from the mindless zombies, colloqially known as walkers. However, with the fall of humanity these survivors also face conflict from other living survivors who have formed groups and communities with their own sets of laws and morals, often leading to hostile conflict between the human communities.

The Walking Dead airs on AMC on Sunday nights at 9.

@bobevanz - I actually hadn't watched since Negan's arrival, but then I saw no one reports TWD news here so I caught up.

They've been showing a lot of Ezekiel the last couple weeks, so it's possible he way go the way of the books... and while I do think they are brave enough to kill off pregnant Rosita, I don't feel like she's been in our faces enough this season to really feel her death... unless they focus on her pretty good next episode.

@SKetCH - The whole Gabriel/Rosita/Siddiq situation has to have somekind of foreshadowing, I'm sure at least one of them is killed at the fair.

I got no predictions, but would be ok with the comics version of events. It never goes just that way though. They just need to keep Daryl and Carol around.
