Reception of the recent seasons of
The Walking Dead has been divisive to say the least, but that hasn't stopped the franchise from having confidence in moving forward with that universe.
Things seem to be picking up, with Lauren Cohan returning in the second half of Season 10, something fans have been looking forward to for some time now. In addition, Angela Kang recently made comments about a potential return for Andrew Lincoln. Now, David Morrissey is making comments regarding the return of his own character - The Governor.
“Well, you never know, with the way they do it. They sometimes go back and they do origin stories, and now they’re doing these movies.”
Considering The Governor (Spoiler Alert) died in Season 4, it would be difficul for them to do it any other way, unless he were to return in another flashback, the way he did for the death of Tyreese. The actor goes on to praise his time in the role and how much he enjoyed it.
"I was so happy doing that job, it’s a great job, it’s a great character. And not just in terms of the actors and the people in front of the camera, but I made great friends in the crew and stuff. We filmed it in Atlanta, which is tough, but I got on so well with everybody down there.”
