The Walking Dead universe is a brutal one. And soon, you'll be stepping into it in virtual reality. Skydance Interactive and Skybound Entertainment unveiled today the first trailer for The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, a new virtual reality game set in the post-apocalyptic universe created by Robert Kirkman.

It's a cinematic trailer, so unfortunately we don't see any actual gameplay. However, we do get a glimpse at the gruesome adventure that awaits in the flooded remains of New Orleans, as well as the visceral, physics-based combat combat.

Like Telltale's The Walking Dead series, Saints & Sinners will also place an emphasis on player choice, both in combat and when interacting with others around you. And your decisions will have an impact on the world around you. "Are you a Saint or a Sinner?" the teaser asks.

Choices in The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners will affect not just how the combat plays out but the fate of the city and its other survivors. New Orleans is at war and the living are not just fending off the dead, but each other as well. Will players risk life and limb to protect those in need or eliminate anyone who stands in their way? Will they join one of the warring factions, or play them against each other for personal gain?

New Orleans is at war. The living are not just fighting the dead, but also inflicting pain and brutality upon each other. As bodies pile up between warring factions, whispers spread of a long-lost mystery in the city that could turn the tide of the war. Will you try to court favor with the factions, or play them against each other for personal gain? Can you unravel the mystery that is behind it all? The fate of the city and its survivors rests in your hands.

Saints & Sinners is a game unlike any other in The Walking Dead universe. Every challenge you face and decision you make is driven by YOU. Fight the undead, scavenge through the flooded ruins of New Orleans, and face gut-wrenching choices for you and the other survivors. Live The Walking Dead's dark drama in your own skin.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners will release for VR on January 23, 2020.

Guessing all platforms... I hate having the Vive just for the big titles to be a watered down PSVR exclusive.

Good looking trailer.

"inflicting pain and brutality upon each other."

Same thing will happen if the power grid ever goes completely down.
