ARROW EP On The Show Connecting To DC TV Shows On Other Networks

The various DC Entertainment television show producers have echoed the same 'verbage' from DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns that the shows will not connect to the film universe established in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. But what about one another?

During the Summer 2014 TCA Press Tour, the various DC Entertainment television shows, Arrow, Flash, Gotham and Constantine, have all been questioned by the media about whether the shows will connect or hint at the events of Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman, similar to how ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. connects to the Marvel Cinematic Univserse.  The answer to that question is no, Johns and the various showrunners have stated that they view the DC TV shows as seperate continuity from the film universe currently being established by Zack Snyder and co.  Ok. So what about establishing a tv universe, across the various networks, that's seperate from the film universe?

Said Arrow EP Marc Guggenheim on the chances of The CW's Arrow connecting to NBC's Constantine, "When we do our Easter eggs, they’re never in conjunction with other DC Easter eggs" said the writer and showrunner, going on to add that "only Arrow and Flash are connected."

To be fair, the idea of characters from one televion network's show appearing on another network's television show is not an unkown phenomenon, it has happened many times before.  But right now, it appears that this is not the case for the DC superhero dramas currently airing on The CW, NBC and Fox.

Who the [frick] would want Gotham and iZombie connected to those anyway? Why even bother putting that in the banner. Makes no sense.

For the better, because if they did connect literally ever live action show together along with the film universe it would be one of the biggest, most bloated and poorly conceived cluster[frick]s ever.

Good! Once you connect film and TV you completely restrict everything.
Look at Agents of SHIELD, while it has some great episodes, it's essentially the Movieverses bitch.

Arrow and Flash deserve to have their own fun and adventure.
And to be honest, they don't get enough viewers to really say that connecting the films and TV for those shows would be all that profitable or make a difference.

Between arrow and flash you'll be getting the whole DC "who's who"

No reason to connect to izombie for crying out loud

Now that was the only connection i really wanted. Same Zatana on Constantine (fingers crossed for her inclusion), could giv Ollie a helping hand. Or maybe cast a 12yr old Ollie dat came to Gotham with his father for something or the other. Or even Ben McKenzie, sporting a mustache... a lil make up to make him look older & BOOM, a cameo on Arrow

The moment I saw Urkel on Full House...I knew Dinosaurs took place in that universe too, but in the past.

Between two shows - arrow and flash- were getting batman sidekicks like nightwing, katana outsiders like metamorpho , firestorm , the atom, suicide squad, maybe even doom patrol. Possibly even green lantern.

That's awesome. Plus we have an else worlds batman ish show in addition to the cinematic DC.

Amazing what fanboys will kvetch about.

Yeah...there's no way WB/DC have the brainpower to do what Marvel's doing tying everything together so neatly...Not trolling, I'm a DC fan, but man o man does DC not know where the f*ck to go... they're like DOGS CHASING CARS. sheeesh

DC is doing a live action multiverse.

And fanboys kvetch cause they don't copy and paste marvel.

Why does everything have to be connected ? It doesn't guarantee great storytelling. Look, I understand some of you are eager to see something akin to the comics, but the truth is, it's TV. And TV comes with its limitations, especially in terms of budget, sets locations, time, etc.

Arrow and Flash are connected because one is an offshoot of the other. It makes sense in terms of story, tone, and, perhaps more importantly, in terms of production.

Judging by the trailer, it appears Constantine will have a different tone altogether. After all, it deals with the supernatural, something that's hardly conceivable with Arrow or Flash (or even Gotham, I suspect).

The separation makes total sense.

HEY! Take it with a grain of salt (I always do). But it's better than a stick in the eye . . .

While I always say marvel is bringing their comicbook business mo to Hollywood, it seems like dc is doing the same thing. Back in the day this(multiverse) thing they were doing, kept everything so confusing. So while the books continuity is easier to understand with the new 52, their live action stuff is going to need a crisis event eventually.

This doesn't mean they can't cross them over Crisis style.

They established that these are different continuities, along with the films; all separate Easter eggs won't be in conjunction to each other. That doesn't mean that the separate continuities can't bridge.

Seeing as there not connected. I wonder if John Constantine can show up on Arrow or Flash. If so I wonder who they would get to play that version of John? I think it would be great to see more of the darker universe show up on either show. I don't really think Etrigan or Swamp Thing could show up. But I could see Zatanna and Deadman though.

DC needs it's own studio, it's own Kevin Fiege, Jon Faverou, James Gunn, and Joss Whedon. Its own studio will allow them to work without many restrictions from WB. Their Kevin can plan their universe far ahead. There Jon can get the Universe on it's feet. Their James can handle their "odd" properties. Their Joss can handle the Justice League films.

"WB are too incompetent to construct a shared universe"

That's why you're getting TWO. A live action shared universe on TV, and a concurrent one in film. Both are DC. Both feature a "shared universe" of DC characters from every corner of DC "who's who".

It's DC. Ever heard of the "multiverse"
?? ???????????????? ???????

Mabel has one mediocre tv show and two promising shows connected to the MCU.
The shows LEAST tethered (agent carter and daredevil ) look most promising BECAUSE - even though its the "same universe " they aren't hamstrung by the movie series.

So WBDC does it differently. Isn't it great to have variety?

Oh noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Everything must be exactly the same.
