ARROW EP Says "Magic Fits Pretty Well" As Lazarus Pit Is Officially Confirmed

The Lazarus Pit has been confirmed to have significant presence in Arrow moving forward with the remaining episodes of season 3. But just how and who will the mythical, restorative pool be used on? Arrow returns this Wednesday with all new episodes.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim shared a tantalizing teaser for supernatural elements that will be explored when The CW's superhero drama returns this Wednesday.  "All year long we've been teasing what comic book fans know as the Lazarus Pit. We'll learn a lot more about that in 316."  He continued, "The world of magic fits pretty well into the world of Arrow.  We've already seen superpowers on the show. Once you've seen super powers, the occult and magic — that actually fits better in Arrow than superpowers."  Guggenheim also apparently indicated that other supernatural elements will also be explored in this episode, meaning that The CW-verse is going to blow the doors wide open on DC Comics' magic and occult lore after introducing superpowers and meta humans in season 2.  Arrow returns this Wednesday with episode 316 - "The Offer".

There was an article on here a few days ago about it.

@Nomis They totally squandered a golden opportunity by not having Oliver be resurrected after falling off that mountain. He was stabbed through the gut, fell about 100 feet and was out in the freezing cold for god knows how long. No one would survive that.

Amel posted the first image that Nomis did to his FaceBook page a couple days after Arrow was "killed", so that pretty much confirmed it for me back then. Always good to have the official confirmation I guess.

I have to admit I've been a little turned off this season, but for some reason I'm excited to see it return. Not as much as flash, but still can't wait.

#1 Just end this show…
#2 Mamoa saying F Marvel is funny because he was almost in a Marvel movie… Its like a Microsoft employee saying F Apple… Just shows Marvel fans are getting on his nerves.

I don't get it though, if they knew they were gonna use the lazarus pit later on, why not use it ro bring Oliver back to life?

I just feel like this season has been poorly planned compared to others. I think the back half of season 3 would have worked better if, since they knew they were going to have Ra's make the offer to Oliver, why not have it be why he killed him. We could have learned that Ra's was impressed with Oliver but he refused his offer on the mountain top, so Ra's kills him to bring him back corrupted with the pit (instead of magic penicilin tea and "strong will to live")

Then Oliver would have come back as Dark Ollie, Ra's could have trained him in secret while Team Arrow was dealing with his loss and Brick back in Starling. Then have Oliver come back as a double agent, on the hunt for Merlyn. And have Team Arrow and The Atom needing to stop the Arrow, eventually bring him back from the brink and all of them taking the fight to Nanda Parbat, to the League and Ra's for a big finale.

and BTW, I said yesterday I'm down for a Team up show as long as Arrow is more of the side kick and they use the Tone of the Flash TV show not Arrow. I don't hate the character I hate the show;)

@ComicsBornAndBred They spoiled that Sarah will be brought back via the Lazarus pit when they announced the spinoff. I also think we're going to find out that Tommy was resurrected post season one and has been in Nanda Parbat ever since... Finally Thomas Merlin the master assassin, nothing against Barrowmerlin, I just like seeing things move closer to the comics. Plus I want the grey temple wolverine haircut for Merlin, the purple jumpsuit would be nice too.

The back half of the season could have looked like this:

310: Brick/Oliver's brought back to life in the Lazarus Pit
311: Brick/Oliver's training in the League
312: Brick/Oliver's training in the League
313: Brick/Ra's Says Oliver is ready to go home for his final test.
314: Oliver returns to Starling, acts a little off and duplicitous
315: Oliver secretly hunts for Merlyn/filler bad guy
316: Oliver finds Malcolm. Kills him in final epic showdown.
317: Team Arrow and Atom vs. Oliver
318: Oliver cut off from resources. Diggle frees Slade to track Oliver down.
319: Thea suits up. Team Arrow brings Oliver back from the brink.
320: Oliver is good again, prepares all the team for an all out assault.
321: Assault on Nanda Parbat, part 1
322: Nanda Parbat showdown part 2, final confrontation with Ra's

If they are using the Lazarus Pit, then why the [frick] are they doing the Nolan thing where Ra's al Ghul is just a position? What the [frick] are they doing?

"Shots fired! Aquaman might have signed a fans poster with the words [frick] marvel."

Even if you were a DC fan, having a poster signed with the words 'frick marvel' sounds like it would'nt be desireable in anyway. If the fan asked for it then that fan has issues...

In addition the actor has not been on-screen in a DC film and has no actual quarrel with Marvel, so this come virtually out of nowhere making the actor seem really petty.

Whats worse is that he is insulting Marvel yet he is playing a dude who has been the but of DC's jokes for the last 10-20 years. He's just trash talking Marvel in order to seem cool, and he's failing terribly at it.

I'm not picking a side here, but i've seen more Batman itterations in the past doing the same thing over and over in 5 years than i've seen itterations or 'same products' from Marvel.
