This season of Arrow has already featured plenty of shake-ups and surprises with the fracturing of Team Arrow and the departure of Willa Holland’s Thea, and it seems the show has plenty more in store.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Marc Guggenheim discussed the Season 6 finale of Arrow. “It’s a very unusual kind of finale," Guggenheim explained before comparing it to last year’s explosive finale, which saw Prometheus set off his bombs on Lian Yu. “Last year’s finale was a traditional cliffhanger. It was very much an ‘Oh my God, what’s going to happen?’ This is a different kind of cliffhanger.” The producer went on to say that the style of this season’s cliffhanger will fall “somewhere in the middle” of those that occurred in Seasons 1 and 5.
Not only did Guggenheim compare the upcoming Season 6 finale of Arrow to those of past seasons, he also boldy explained that the cliffhanger is “unprecedented not just for Arrow, but for the other DC superhero shows as well.”
These comments definitely aren’t revealing by any stretch of the imagination, but they do tease more of what fans should expect from the finale, which is already featuring the unexpected return of Caity Lotz as Sarah Lance.
