ARROWVERSE Crossover Adds AMERICAN GODS Actor Jeremy Davies As... Doctor Destiny?
The upcoming Arrowverse crossover event has found its main villain in the form of Jeremy Davies (Saving Private Ryan, LOST, America Gods), who will play a character that's almost certainly Doctor Destiny.
It looks like the big bad of The CW's upcoming Arrowverse crossover is going to be none other than Doctor Destiny, and this year's event will be set in Gotham City.
According to THR, former LOST alum Jeremy Davies has signed on to play a character named John Deegan, "a doctor at Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane in Gotham City, who might just be crazier than the inmates he treats." If you're familiar with DC lore you'll know this is almost certainly a take on John Dee, a.k.a. Doctor Destiny.
Dee was originally introduced as a JLA villain with the power to manipulate dreams, but he is arguably better known for his appearances in some of the more controversial issues of Neil Gaiman's Sandman.
How the character will be re-purposed for the small screen remains to be seen, but we do know that "His machinations will draw Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) to Gotham City."
What do you guys think of this casting? The 3-part Arrowverse crossover kicks-off on December 9.
