Oliver Queen only has so many villains so now that we're six seasons in, it's easy to see why The CW is struggling to come up with a new big bad for the Emerald Archer. Well, Bleeding Cool has come across a new casting announcement for Arrow and it points to a villain from The New 52 being the big bad.

While DC's initial take on Green Arrow was widely considered a flop, Jeff Lemire later rebooted the series and introduced us to a wealth of new characters. Among them was the sinister Richard Dragon.

"[Ricardo Diaz] Male, 30s-40s, Diverse. Hardened ex-son recently released from prison for crimes he didn’t commit. Ricardo uses his freedom and 25 million dollars in settlement money to establish control over Star City’s criminal underworld. He’s a martial arts and fighting expert honed by years of life on the street and in prison. 7/13 Fractional Series Regular."

The son of a corrupt businessman who was taken down by Green Arrow, Ricardo Diaz Jr. trained under the original Richard Dragon, until he killed his master, taking his name. He puts together a team called the Long Bow Hunters made up of the likes of Clock KIng, Brick, Count Vertigo, and Killer Moth. Most of them have already shown up in the series so it would make sense for them to return under his watch.

How do you guys feel about Dragon potentially being Arrow season six's big bad? Sound off below.

It's possible and they could tie him into someone Oliver put away in season 1 because if I remeber correctly they hinted the bad guy was sort of introduced in season 1.

Dude looks like the rapper Common with a dragon tattoo on his head. So much so that they could cast Common in the role and it would be the most comic-accurate casting decision since J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson.

@Malkochson - It was actually speculated that Common was playing Richard Dragon for awhile when the first SS set pics surfaced of them in the club.

I wonder how they would do Killer Moth on CW?

It'll be the same villain of the last 3 seasons... the writers.

Took them long enough to realize adapting Lemire's work is the way to go. Too bad we've seen the revenge angle on this show already.

Too little too late unless they change his revenge motives.

So basically the same thing as prometheus, wow arrow, recycling storylines, leave him for the movies, seriously.

@ConnorHawkeye - Did they say that he wants revenge on Green Arrow for killing or taking out his father? No? Didn't think so.

@GAThrawnIGF - bruh, have you seen this season? He literally says that and that is the his main motivation

This arc is good, they have a great material to work in season 6. I hope they could manage and do a good season.

Please make it into green arrow, not discount batman, cause to me and for that reason to anyone who believes that the show has gotten better, all of us have realized that even in its best moments, arrow has never been green arrow, just stupid, discount batman

So basically it is the same arc as prometheus, and that means the writers will change up the character, so it could go both ways.

This would be a nice change in the series overall, and to see how Deathstroke factors in this scheme is something I would like to see...

I am all in for this villainous version of Richard Dragon to be the main villain. As long as S7 and S8 have Onomatopoeia and Constantine Drakon as the next big bads.

Although I have to admit I find the prospect of an actual original Richard Dragon TV show very interesting...

Sounds to much like what they did with Prometheus.

I think that before they have Richard dragon in the arrow TV series they should have the whole outsiders storyline.
