BATWOMAN: It Sounds Like We Can Forget About The CW Series Introducing A Small Screen Batman
In news which is bound to disappoint a lot of comic book fans, the upcoming Batwoman TV show starring Ruby Rose reportedly won't be allowed to feature the Dark Knight. Hit the jump for further details...
Last year's Arrowverse crossover - "Elseworlds" - featured the small screen debut of Batwoman and a huge number of references to Batman. While it was confirmed that the Caped Crusader exists in that world (but is regarded as a myth), we learned that Bruce Wayne went missing a number of years ago.
However, those of you hoping to see Kate Kane track down her mentor may be disappointed.
A new report claims that Batwoman will get "as close as it possibly can" to featuring Batman without ever physically introducing him. The show will also include a number of familiar faces from Gotham City but it's said that Bruce Wayne "remains off-limits for the foreseeable future" in the eyes of The CW.
This is definitely pretty disappointing, especially as we know Batman will be featured in the series finale of Gotham. That's clearly going to be a one-off, though, and it seems as if we can look forward to the Dark Knight's existence being handled in a way that's equally as frustrating as what Titans has done (referring to him on a constant basis and showing him from afar).
