BATWOMAN Season 2 Synopsis Promises To Kick Off With A "Game-Changer" For Gotham And The Bat-Family

Like The Flash, Batwoman was forced to end its first season prematurely, and a description for season two promises that something game-changing will happen to both Gotham City and the Bat-Family...

We won't get to see the rest of Batwoman's first season (which will form part of the second) until January after The CW made some big changes to its 2020/2021 schedule. Shows normally begin in October, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the network has had to shake things up.

Now, we have a new synopsis for Batwoman season two which drops some big hints about what's to come. As you can see below, the breakdown references what comes next after that premature season finale, and teases some game-changing consequences set to hit both Gotham City and the Bat-Family.

Season two kicks off with a major game-changer that will alter Gotham and The Bat Team forever. As the dust settles, Batwoman has everything working against her – including the recently escaped rogues' gallery of villains – and everyone will come to see her in a whole new light. Alice meets her match when she becomes entangled with a dangerous foe from her past who knows exactly how to prey on her vulnerabilities. As Luke (Camrus Johnson) and Mary (Nicole Kang) find their footing as sidekicks, a romance will shake up their dynamic. Meanwhile, Sophie (Megan Tandy) and Julia's (guest star Christina Wolfe) budding relationship will face its first real test and make Sophie question everything she thought she knew to be true.

Recently, Batwoman showrunner Caroline Dries confirmed that villainous pirate Safiyah Sohail will be a major villain in season two, so the series is clearly going to continue to use new villains rather than those closely associated with Batman. Will that work? The response to Alice has been mixed, so the jury is out (the vast majority of comic book fans would definitely prefer some familiar faces).

What are your thoughts on these first details about the upcoming second season of Batwoman?

The response to Alice has been mixed ? Rachel Skarsten is litteraly a scene stealer, one of the best things about this show.

@Amuro - Yeah, I’ve heard tons of people shit on everything about the show except for her. I thought part of the issue a lot of people were having was that they liked Alice way more than they liked Batwoman.

Really hope this season is leagues better in almost every way compared to rather mediocre and subpar first season. Alice is the weakest part of this show (in multiple ways), and the second season SHOULD really limit her exposure and on-screen presence because season 1 has just been numbing, but that synopsis makes it seem like she will have a big role. So I have no confidence that season 2 will be any better.

This show is aggressively bad, and no one watches it. I’m not surprised the green lit a season 2 based on what this iteration represents, but my guess is the execs begrudgingly did so w the terrible numbers it gets. Season 2 will be its last.

Alice was a terrible villain, I really hope the season 2 improve the villain side.
