HBO Max recently unveiled its second wave slate of Max Originals to debut throughout the summer, and we finally got word on a premiere date for the highly-anticipated second season of Doom Patrol.

We'll be rejoining Robot Man, Crazy Jane and the rest of the misfit heroes much sooner than expected on June 25th, and now thanks to SFX Magazine, we have a first look at some of the returning team members.

The images feature Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), and Cyborg (Joivan Wade). We don't have any context for what's going on in the stills, but it looks like our deranged do-gooders might be trapped in Cliff's toy racetrack!

Most of the team were forced to miniaturize themselves in the Season 1 finale in order to escape Mr. Nobody and survive Negative Man's (Matt Bomer) nuclear blast (a megalomaniacal cockroach named Ezekiel and a vengeful rate called Admiral Whiskers were also involved), so it appears we're going to pick up right where that episode left off when we rejoin the Patrol next month.

DC’s strangest group of heroes — Cliff Steele aka Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Larry Trainor aka Negative Man (Matt Bomer), Rita Farr aka Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Jane aka Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), and Victor Stone aka Cyborg (Joivan Wade) — are back again to save the world. That is, if they can find a way to grow up…both figuratively and literally. Following the defeat of Mr. Nobody, the members of the Doom Patrol now find themselves mini-sized and stranded on Cliff’s toy race car track. Here they begin to deal with their feelings of betrayal by Niles Caulder aka The Chief (Timothy Dalton), while confronting their own personal baggage. And as each member faces the challenge of growing beyond their own past traumatic experiences, they must come together to embrace and protect the newest member of the family: Dorothy Spinner (Abigail Shapiro), Niles’ daughter, whose powers remain a mysterious but real threat to bringing on the end of the world.

Are you guys looking forward to more Doom Patrol? Let us know in the comments.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - I agree, they deserve it for just making Flex Mentallo work. I only wish the DC movie characters had as much charm. I love S1, I initially thought it was just going to riff on Marvel's X-men due to the similar premise but my god they proved that the Doom Patrols are as complex and likeable as any other team. I can def see why they initially wanted a movie of this instead of a tv show.

Wonder when they will use the Brotherhood of Evil. When the show eventually ends, they should take inspiration from the original comic's ending and kill everyone off

@DannRamm113 - I'm interested in that HBO Parasite show. Wonder what Bong will come up with. I've heard pretty bad things about the Bong-less Snowpiercer show currently airing, so we'll see.

@tmp3 - oh yeah, with Bong involved and Adam McKay on board I'm sure it'll be worth it.

But, if the rumors of Mark Ruffalo and Tilda Swinton are involved ill be a little disappointed. When I thought of an American parasite remake I often thought it should be about minority families, and not typical poor Caucasian vs rich Caucasian. But, im not gonna judge it on that merrit as thats just unfair

Okay costume, but probably the only time I ever cared and was excited to see Cyborg!

Love how G.M the first season was, the fact that we saw the whole decreator stuff alone is insane!

Sweet! The first season was pretty good, I enjoyed it a lot with my favorite characters being Robotman and Cyborg. Though the season did kind of fluctuate back and forth in quality, and I wasn't overly ecstatic about the finale, thought it was a bit underwhelming and rushed. If I had one recommendation for season 2, it would be to not draw out your main plot for so long. Maybe have two main arcs or pods, because having the search for the professor last almost the entire season meant there were some filler episodes and storylines.
