We recently got our first official look at Ruby Rose (The Meg, Orange is the New Black) as Batwoman, and now we have another glimpse of the actress fully suited-up as Gotham City's other Caped Crusader.

This year's Arrowverse crossover event is currently shooting, and Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) has shared the following behind-the-scenes photo to her Instagram page, confirming that Rose has now joined her Elseworlds cast-mates on set.

Following her Elseworlds debut, Batwoman will become the first out lesbian superhero character to headline her own TV series, and Rose - who identifies as gender fluid - is very grateful for the opportunity to bring life to Kate Kane on the small screen.

“I am beyond thrilled and honored. I’m also an emotional wreck, because this is a childhood dream," said the actress in a recent Instagram post of her own. "This is something I would have died to have seen on TV when I was a young member of the LGBT community who never felt represented on tv and felt alone and different.”

The Elseworlds Arrowverse crossover begins Sunday, Dec. 9 with The Flash at 8 p.m., then continues on Monday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. with Arrow, and concludes with Supergirl on Tuesday the 11th at 8 p.m.

@Reeds2Much - what does that have to do with saying that i dont like tights? none of these CBM's make sense...

@brek - well to be fair, for Batman at any rate, the "tights" are actually a high density fabric which disperses the impact of gun shots and projectiles so the armored body suit underneath it doesn't absorb the full impact in a centralized point, so basically the body armor prevents penetration while the "tights" evenly distributes the kinetic energy so Batman can get shot multiple times and not get knocked down or have the wind knocked out of him. At least that's how it's been explained off as being functional in more modern incarnations.

@brek - It really doesn't make sense for him to be wearing armor either. Considering that Batman has always been shown to use agility and stealth as his primary attributes, armor would just get him dead. Not that dressing up as a bat complete with a pointy eared mask makes much sense anyway. Don't get me wrong here, I love the concept of Batman, but you just have to suspend disbelief to enjoy these movies. A tight-fitting ninja suit is the least of the unbelievable things Batman does.

@Atomicockroach - Isn't that whole point of comics/fanatasy/science fiction? To suspend you belief for a moment in time. To forget the world around you as you emerge yourself into that world.

@SWelch - Yes! Exactly my point! That's why I love comics/fantasy/sci-fi/horror. But it IS silly to bash Batman for wearing a tight-fitting ninja suit instead of heavy armor when that actually makes MORE sense. Fun fact: Ninjas wore almost no armor for the greater mobility it afforded them. Because of this, they were capable of assassinating heavily armored Samurai.

I've never been a fan of the CW DC shows and they've had some wretched costumes, but that is not one of them. Kudos.
