The
Wizard World Comic Con is currently underway in Chicago, and following
Arrow's Stephen Amell's comments on Bruce Wayne appearing on
The CW's hit DC series, more Batman news has emerged, this time in regards to
Fox's hit DC series,
Gotham. During the
Gotham panel at WWCC, star Ben McKenzie, who plays Jim Gordon on the show, was asked about when fans could expect to see Batman on the show, or if we may get a
Smallville type situation, where Clark Kent finally donned the iconic Superman suit at the end of the series. McKenzie had this to say:
"The last frame of the last shot of the last scene of the last episode of Gotham, whatever season that may be, is Bruce putting on that cape".
Just in case it wasn't obvious from that statement, it would seem that Bruce Wayne donning Batman's cape and cowl will be the VERY LAST thing we see on
Gotham, which is what many fans had already assumed anyway. However, it is nice to get some official confirmation on the topic. Of course, if Gotham manages to keep ratings high, it is always possible that the show could spin-off into a full-fledged Batman series, though it may be a bit early to begin speculating on that idea, as the show has yet to enter its second season. You can check out the footage of McKenzie discussing the topic, courtesy of

What do you guys think? Would you prefer to see Batman a little bit earlier on the show, or do you think that would ruin the entire idea behind
Gotham? Would you like the show to continue on into a Batman series, or do you think
Fox should leave it at
Gotham? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to share and hit that thumbs up button! You can catch
Gotham's second season when it premieres September 21 on Fox.
