GOTHAM: First Look At 'Haly's Circus' And 'The Flying Graysons'; Will We See 'The Joker'?

The sixteenth episode of Gotham will be titled "The Blind Fortune Teller", an episode which will introduce us to Dick Grayson's parents. You can get a first look at the Haly's Circus set after the jump, but could a mention of an "Evil Clown" mean we'll get to meet The Joker?

The sixteenth episode of Gotham was being shot earlier this week, and Vixen Varsity have rounded up some photos and details from the set of the hit Fox series. As you can see below, "The Flying Graysons" are already a big part of Haly's Circus, while Jim Gordon and Dr. Leslie Thompkins will obviously become an item pretty soon based on Morena Baccarin's WhoSay post. The site adds that there will be a fight between the clowns and trapeze artists, with Gordon later questioning the ringmaster and "an evil clown" following a murder. Could this be some sort of nod to The Joker? It's unlikely, but you never know! Dick Grayson's parents meanwhile are much younger at this point, so we'll be meeting them as Mary Lloyd and John Grayson, with the former apparently the daughter of a clown who is in love with John, the son of a trapeze artist. What do you guys think?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Red Hood only become the Joker because of what happened at ACE Chemicals?

@cinnamon - Nothing pre new 52 is canon.

@JordanKing - Don't you remember the comic where Gordon became a hipster? Pretty soon he is going to grow a version of his trademark mustache... albeit with curled up corners. Next he will don a pair of unneeded black horn-rimmed glasses and will begin riding a bicycle with one very big wheel in front and a very small wheel in back... just for the irony of it all.

@actionmoviefanatix Not true. Batman Inc. is canon and some Green Lantern too. Some stories are, some are not. Convergence will be DC's band-aid to fix this.

So a clown at a circus and that's the Joker? Man this low quality show has people reaching for anything that might make this show good.

@actionmoviefanatix

That isn't true at all, pre New 52 stuff gets referenced a lot, it wasn't a complete reboot. Also Batgirl talked about getting shot by the Joker all the time in the first few Batgirl New 52 comics so Killing Joke is cannon.

I hope the show takes a twist and puts Thompkins and Gordon together instead of Barbara, because she is awful in everyway.

@tojphantom

Killing Joke is not now nor was it ever canon. The Joker shooting Barbara was added into canon after the Killing Joke. But the story itself is not canon.

Some of Batman's history was altered to fit the New 52, but it largely remains in tact. Killing Joke is canon. Many stories have been done to fit it in continuity, some based just before, right after and concurrent. It may not have been a canon story initially but it is now.

Have you all forgotten the showrunner said they'll be hitting to Joker throughout season one, but never actually say who it is.

Haly's Circus?

Haly.
Haley.
Harley.

Shit guys! Five-year old Harley's coming on Gotham! Boy do these guys know how to tease their Batman fans. Subtle nods all the way ;)

The Killing Joke shouldn't ever be canon anywhere because Batman kills the Joker.

Actually, thinking about it - the reason why this show has been so successful (ratings wise at least) is cause it's not for CBM geeks like us.

The general audience couldn't give two shits whether 'Two-Face' or 'Catwoman' aren't like the comics - they just recognise the names and go with it.

This series is mother [frick]ing CRAP!

Is only the first season and in Gotham almost all the main character know each other, it was ok with the Mafia and the Penguin but now this is going too far with Harvey Dent and the Graysons.

If you cant do a season about the background of batman without putting some main villains and side characters of Batman then you cant do the [frick]ing series!

You can't have the Joker without Batman. Maybe they could have Jack Napier or whatever they want to name him as a low level mob enforcer who will become the Joker.

To be truthful, you should NEVER see the Joker on this show. Joker is Batman's villain, not Gordon.

It's only season 1, and they are already introducing Dick Graysons' parents...

I don't think the creator of Gotham is being too smart here.

There won't be any material left for next season. And I doubt this show will get renewed for season 3.

How much you wanna bet one of Dick's parents will be nicknamed robin, or will mention a robin somewhere in the episode, or a robin will land on one of them or some other bull shit to smash our faces in with these are Dick Grayson's parents.

Also is there like a Joker reference or clue to the Joker's identity like once an episode some one tell me because either way it all sounds so stupid.
