According to Cameron Monaghan's Instagram, fan-favorite character Jerome will not appear in Gotham's midseason premiere. Despite what the cliffhanger at the end of Gotham's winter finale implied back in December it appears that fans will have to wait a little longer to see the Joker-like character on the small screen again. In an Instagram post Monaghan wrote "Less than a week until Gotham returns and less than 2 weeks until you get to see this guy in action....The places this story goes by the season’s end is amazing. Some of the coolest, strangest stuff I’ve ever seen on television."
This is sure to be a disappointment to many as Monaghan's take on the clown prince of crime has been a highlight of the show. With even Mark Hamill himself prasing Monaghan's take on the character. Still the upcoming storyline promises to be a good one as Jerome goes head-to-head with the Penguin in Arkham Asylum.
Bruce Wayne actor David Mazouz has previously teased Jerome's return to Gotham stating "The second half of the season will mark one of the worst episodes in Gotham yet. And, the worse the episode is for Gotham, the better it is for viewers, right? Jerome will team up with some less than likable villains and they will take over the city and it will be a terrible, terrible fiasco."
Gotham returns Thursday March 1st at 8/7c on FOX.
