In Legends of Tomorrow's recent season 7 finale, Scrubs alum Donald Faison boarded the series as a character who is clearly meant to be Booster Gold. Should the DC Comics series return to The CW for an eighth season, the actor is expected to suit up and become the Waverider's latest time-travelling crew member. Could he end up being joined by a familiar face?
The second Faison was added to the show's cast, Scrubs fans started throwing around the idea that Zach Braff could play either Ted Kord/Blue Beetle or voice Booster's robot companion, Skeets. The Cheaper by the Dozen star would later express an interest in making that a reality on the duo's Fake Doctors, Real Friends podcast, and Slash Film recently got some additional comments from Braff.
"This keeps coming up and I want you to tell all your followers: I am down to play Ted Kord. Whoever owns the property. It's DC, right? Probably part of the BerlantiVerse. He's one of the first people who ever hired me," the actor enthused. "But yeah, Donald said that everyone [is saying that I should be Ted Kord]. I don't follow comic books. I'm sorry. I know people love them. I don't know anything about it, but yes, I'm here to announce that whoever owns the property. I'm down to play Ted Kord."
Honestly, this would be perfect casting, and the fact that Braff is open to the idea bodes well. Legends of Tomorrow hasn't been renewed yet, but the expectation is that the show will return.
The addition of Booster Gold is a huge deal for the series, and marks his live-action debut. Faison is a great choice, and while there's certainly room for Ted Kord on the team, Braff's voiceover work in Bojack Horseman makes us think he would be an ideal candidate for Skeets in the Arrowverse.
