James Gunn has already revealed that the Justice League scene from the season finale of Peacemaker was originally quite a bit longer, and the director has now described one particular shot that he just couldn't get past Warner Bros. no matter how hard he tried.
In the first episode of The Suicide Squad spinoff, Christopher Smith makes it clear that he genuinely believes Aquaman "f*cks fish," and he says as much to Arthur Curry's (Jason Momoa) face towards the end of the finale after members of the Justice League drop by for a cameo. The Flash (Ezra Miller) then implies that it might actually be true, as a less-than-impressed Aquaman responds with a "f*ck you, Barry."
Well, at one point, we were going to see for ourselves just how deeply the Atlantean warrior cares for his underwater allies.
"I have tons of stuff I didn't use," Gunn tells Total Film. "Ezra went on – and I'm not kidding – for 16 minutes about Aquaman having sex with fish. It was really funny. Then, we had just one quick shot of Momoa banging the shit out of a sturgeon." Gunn adds that he offered to scale things back a bit, but WB simply wouldn't bite.
Peacemaker was about as graphic as any comic book-based TV series has ever been, but it seems the studio bosses were forced to draw the line at interspecies relations!
What do you guys make of this? Do you think seeing Aquaman make love to a fish would have enhanced the scene in any way? Drop us a comment down below.
