PEACEMAKER Star John Cena Provides Some Background On Christopher Smith In New Featurette

We first met unhinged vigilante Christopher Smith in The Suicide Squad, and in this new featurette, star John Cena explains his character's development (or lack thereof) ahead of HBO Max's Peacemaker

Following the recent red band trailer for Peacemaker, HBO Max has released a new featurette for James Gunn's The Suicide Squad spinoff spotlighting some new footage along with interview snippets with star John Cena.

When we first met Christopher Smith in The Suicide Squad, he was a misguided, cocky dickhead who ended up murdering Rick Flag and coming very close to doing the same to Ratcatcher II. When we catch up with him in Peacemaker... he's still a misguided, cocky dickhead, but he is at least making some attempt to change his ways and evolve.

The first reviews for the show are now online (it currently sits at 93% on RT), and having seen the first 7 episodes, we can confirm that it's an absolute blast. Be sure to check back later for our verdict.

Though specific plot details had been under wraps up until recently, the trailers have given us a much better idea of what to expect from the show, as Cena's unhinged vigilante is recruited by A.R.G.U.S. to "save the f*cking world" from a mysterious group known as The Butterflies. We're still not sure exactly who or what these seemingly monstrous individuals are, but there's speculation that they may somehow be tied to The Suicide Squad's big bad, Starro.

Peacemaker is set to premiere on the HBO Max streaming service on January 13. Do you guys plan on checking this one out?

I have a bodybuilding (workout not diet) cousin, it’s weird because he’s fat except for his arms, 19 inch arms… Looks tiny next to John Cena type arms. Only seen that a couple times in real life and it’s always crazy. I couldn’t get my arms big if I used steroids

Happy to see Charlton heroes getting screen time.

These heroes inspired the Watchmen, yes? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Charlton_Comics_superheroes

Comedian was the analog for Peacemaker, I believe.
