A brand new trailer for Stargirl is now online, and this latest promo for the DC-based show provides our best look yet at the various heroes and villains suited-up for battle as Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) assembles the modern-day JSA.

The footage shows Courtney picking up her father's staff and embracing her destiny by bringing a new group of heroes together to face-off against The Injustice Society. We then see glimpses of Doctor Mid-Nite (Anjelika Washington), Wildcat (Yvette Monreal), and Hourman (Cameron Gellman) trading shots with the likes of Tigress (Joy Osmanski), Icicle (Neil Jackson), and Brainwave (Christopher James Baker).

We recently found out that Stargirl had been delayed, but only by a week. The show will now hit DC Universe on Monday, May 18th, and make its broadcast TV debut on The CW the following day, Tuesday, May 19th, at 8/7c.

"This is our destiny"

Can we make it illegal for writers to ever use the word destiny in anything ever again, it's really pretty tired.

@Nightwing1015 - "This is our destiny...to be relegated to yet another sh!tty CW tv series that's focused more on teenage angst than actual good storytelling and character development."

Also, I don't know the character much, but a staff that picks a worthy successor giving him/her cosmic powers? Sounds a little...green, no?

Aside from the hideous music for the trailer, this looks good.

I don't know why this show is getting so much hate. If Geoff Johns is behind it, I have faith that they'll deliver.

As stoked as I am for Joel McHale to finally be a super-hero, it's too bad he's only playing this amalgamated version of Sylvester Pemberton and Ted Knight, and not Jack Knight, which would have been perfect. I don't understand why DC didn't just make a newer take on Starman, more akin to Titans.

Still not sure how I feel about this show. A friend and I were discussing this, and he feels that their going to have to cut some stuff for broadcast (time and content) since it was originally a DCU show and filmed for it. I've been getting a strong bubblegum pop vibe from everything I've seen so far and don't think much material will be cut for content, which is also why I'm unsure about the show itself because I've never been a fan of that style. I'll give the first episode or two a try, but my hopes are not high.
