Don't Expect To See SUPERGIRL Crossover With FLASH/ARROW Anytime Soon

Supergirl will debut on CBS this fall but the heroine will be going it alone in the fight against evil. Greg Berlanti has confirmed that Kara Zor-El will not be flying over to The CW anytime soon

The Flash/Arrow crossovers were huge hits for The CW this past season but it looks like Supergirl is staying fully with sister network CBS. The possibility of two shows on different networks crossing over is slim but since the CBS Corporation own 50% of The CW, their was a chance that Supergirl could appear in either of the shows. Executive producer of all three shows Greg berlanti has confirmed to Variety that CBS will not be sharing their heroine:

“The network has said publicly at this point they’re going to keep her to themselves. I always approach the shows as a fan first, so I would love to see (a crossover). I think in success, all things are possible. But there’s a lot that would have to happen before everybody might say yes to that.”

Berlanti's statement does not mean that a crossover will never happen but for now, CBS want to keep the Kryptonian hero to themselves. With the Legends of Tomorrow spinoff, would their be room for another corssover within The CW-verse or are you happy keeping Supergirl in isolation? I dunno...in the Supergirl teaser she said "Now the Earth has two heroes" Or something like that, meaning her and Superman.

@ Cameron Gray

Good article! I think the first sentence may need a correction. "...will be going it alone." Think you mean, "doing it alone." Feel free to delete.

Makes sense hopefully down the line they will do it.

I'd be surprised if this show CROSSES the first episode. Even if it is successful, Superman already exists in this universe, but CLEARLY doesn't in the Arrow/Flash universe. Therefore, it can't work.

There's no reason they shouldn't, it'll be pretty much the same audience.

First they need to figure out how to pronounce the characters name properly before they do any crossovers.

Arrow and Flash-verse has time travel.
They could easily introduce dimensional travel or something and have Cara transported into their world for a crossover.

It won't happen but that would be cool

I'm still confused if Superman exists in Supergirl, then if she visits Flash and Arrow, Superman exists in the CW verse.

Which could be, but weird because no one ever made mention of him. But who knows.

I think CBS is making a BIG mistake in not allowing crossovers. Supergirl is in a rough timeslot with The Voice against it. It would benefit the network if Arrow or Flash appeared on Supergirl and possibly generate better ratings. This way people actually saw that Supergirl is connected to the CW shows. Connectivity is a big thing and why people go to Marvel Studio movies. Supergirl needs to generate better ratings than the CW shows -it's already in a weaker position. It could use use the support.

Everyone is making such a big deal about Supergirl crossing over to the CW shows -but it's the opposite for me. Supergirl could use the boost of CW superheroes on HER show.

I don't know I feel like a lot of stuff from flarrowverse would have to get reckoned in order to crossover Supergirl, or the other way around. The show is obviously separated from the cw, so changes will have to be made in order to cross the shows over.

Good. Supergirl looks awful.

Well thats unfortunate. It's dead then. This show needed the CW crowd to survive.

Give her a season or two, then cross over.

@Niklander, yeah I agree. It would be weird to have Superman already established in the Flash/Arrow Universe seeing as no one has ever made any mention to him at all. Or the presence of extraterrestrials on Earth at all.

If they ever do crossover it will be so messed up because they haven't written these shows with the intentions of throwing them together. It will be the equivalent of Alien vs Predator or Freddy vs Jason - cool for the fans, but it messes with the continuity of everything overall. It's never a good idea to take two things that were not written as if they were connected and then throw them together.

There not Their... On both occasions.
Do the editors on this site actually edit or just wait around to poach other people's articles?

Give Supergirl the ratings Flash/Gotham had this year and I guarantee it will happen soon enough.

This show is going to bomb hard. It's written very poorly. I don't know what went wrong given that Berlanti and Kreisberg are on the project. An Arrowverse crossover may happen if they feel the show struggling and want to try to draw in viewers from Flash and Arrow. I'm sure Berlanti and Kreisberg will do everything in their power not to create any plot conflicts that suggest the two universes are not the same.

I have faith in it. Berlanti and Kreisberg are involved. It may turn out to surprise a lot of people like The Flash did.

Rememeber when most of you guys hated The Flash when the suit was revealed and the first set photos were posted online?
