SUPERGIRL Is Back In New Photos From The Final Season Premiere; Eliza Helm To Guest Star As Young Cat Grant

With Supergirl set to return for its sixth and final season in just over a week, The CW has released an awesome batch of photos from the final season premiere, offering a sneak peek of Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) and her entire team squaring off against Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer).

This will be the first episode to air in nearly a year, after the fifth season was cut short due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent production shut down. Like The Flash, the first few episodes should wrap up last season's storyline before moving into the overarching arc for the final season.

In related news, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that newcomer Eliza Helm has joined the cast as a young Cat Grant. She's set to appear in the final season's fifth ("Prom Night") and sixth ("Prom Again") episodes, which will flashback to a young CJ Grant as she's just starting out her career. Her official character description reads,

"Eager to step out of Lois Lane's shadow and out from under her boss, Perry White's thumb, Cat chases a story to Kara's hometown of Midvale. This lead won't go as planned, but it will put her on the trajectory toward the Media Powerhouse we know and love as Cat Grant."

Check out photos from the season premiere, titled "Rebirth," below:

Wonder if they will get Flockhart back for at least a guest spot in one episode.

For sure need to see Eliza one more time.

Hopefully its on par with season 4.

Also hopen when the blu rays come out they throw in an extra disc with all the Diggle episodes (assuming there is an ongoing plot in his appearences) like they did with Crisis On Infinite Earths.

@dracula - honestly its not a loss if she doesn't return. Flockhart's Grant was one of the weakest parts of the first two seasons, and certainly a hindrance in the first.

Guess no evil Brainy, guessing Lex will be the big bad.

Alex’s suit is alright, although kind of looks like a recolor of Thea’s

After Superman and Lois this just seems like a huge step back. Hope it doesn't end with a whimper.

This is nitpicky but kinda weird that the same guy plays Superman in scenes set in the past, but not Cat.

Looking forward to it. I wish Superman and Lois had the same atmosphere as this show. The dreary muted look does not do it for me. Supergirl's bright colors just make it feel so much more like a Superman world.

@NicolausCopernicus - Well we only saw 1 room in Superman and Lois. Doubt they would establish so many things in Crisis for the show an not set it on earth 1. Plus Superman and Lois was suppose to crossover with Batwoman. Doubt they would do multiverse crossovers this soon after Crisis

@NicolausCopernicus - It definitely feels like Superman and Lois takes place on a different earth. Someone would have to correct me, but I distinctly remembered Lois and Clark only having one kid. But aside from that, I assume Superman and Lois takes place 16 years after Crisis so that could be where some of the changes come from.

Or the complete change in budget and art direction explains it lol

Best thing this show ever did was introduce us to Tyler Hoechlin's Superman. Besides that, meh. No one's going to miss this.

Excellent, always great seeing promo pics and just like flash they are using ep20 of S5 as ep1 of S6. It’s great seeing Supergirl and m,gann, Jonn together in the fortress. I hope Supergirl stops Lex permanently.
