SUPERGIRL Season 4: First Look At Jon Cryer As Superman Villain Lex Luthor Revealed

Lex Luthor will make his Supergirl debut in the fifteenth episode of the show's fourth season (titled "O Brother, Where Art Thou?") when the villain attempts to enlist Lena in a plan which will see him "stop at nothing to get her on board, even if that means leveraging the life of one of her friends."

Jon Cryer is, of course, playing Lex and a first look at him behind bars has now been revealed!

It's certainly easy enough to picture him as one of Superman's greatest foes and executive producer Jessica Queller promises that he's portraying a comic accurate version of Lex. "The character is not that dissimilar to what we’ve seen in canon. He just [has] a sparkle in his eye and is smarter than everybody in the room and 12 steps ahead of everyone, and just a large, delicious villain."

"He’s the biggest supervillain we’ve had on the show, and his plans will kind of touch every character and impact the entire season moving forward once he arrives."

The photo looks TOO touched up by the computer, looks almost fake. But otherwise, interested to see his take on Lex!

He looks the part, can't wait to find out what he wants. My only theory for now is that he is "the friend" the russians mentioned at the beginning of the last episode regarding whether they could control Red Daughter.

Also expecting some nods and refences to past encounters with Superman from different DC adaptations and stories, they always do that.

Looks very comic booky I think I want to see him in live action before I form an opinion.

Why does it looks so fake? Cryer looks cool but the actual photo looks off.

I never watch this show but I will watch for Lex.

Lots of things they can do with Lex now. Endless possibilities.

I just hope my man Winn and the Legionnaires finish Brainiac up for good in the 31st century 'cause if not this scenario is a possibility.

@noahthegrand - "Can Lex Luthor physically grow a beard in the comics?"

No. Well, not before New 52, now we just don't know, in New 52 he's been shown with hair as a kid and then bald as a man with no explanation. Before that he's had many origin stories tied to Superman's, but overall the few big times it's been explained it was because of a chemical accident caused by Superman, cancer, a clone deteriorating too fast, or a hereditary disease. In all of those cases, he couldn't grow hair. Only since New 52 don't we know what's what. I suppose it's hereditary as well, hair loss triggered by reaching puberty or adulthood. Oh, yeah, and there's that time where in another accident his face was set on fire (was it on Krypton? I can't remember but it was weird shit), he lost his hair and it didn't grow back.

I plan to, with this season, binge it when it comes to Netflix if it’s good.

Can anyone recommend it?
