THE FLASH: An Old Friend Is Reborn In The New Promo For Season 8, Episode 11: "Resurrection"

Following a Frost-centric installment, next week's hour will shift the focus to her sister Caitlin, who may have made a very critical discovery about the Black Flame which could change everything!

With Superman & Lois taking a few weeks off, The Flash has been kicking it into high gear with its latest villain, the Black Flame, and after the last episode's closing moments, it sounds like the devastating new character could have a very critical connection to Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) as the mysterious baddie might actually be Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) reborn!

Entertainment Weekly reported last fall that Amell would reprise his role in episode eleven, so him potentially being the Black Flame isn't exactly a surprise, but it should still be plenty exciting to learn how exactly he survived his season two fate.

This should make for a pretty big hour for Caitlin as she suddenly finds herself torn between her new boyfriend Marcus (Andres Soto) and her formerly dead husband!

Check out the new promo for episode eleven, titled "Resurrection," below:

"Resurrection" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, V) (HDTV)

WHISPERS AND SCREAMS - Barry (Grant Gustin) and Chester (Brandon McKnight) may have found a way to stop the "Black Flame" from hurting anyone else meanwhile Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) decides to handle a situation on her own, possibly putting more innocent lives in danger. Emily Palizzi directed the episode written by Greg Beeman (#811). Original airdate 4/13/2022.

I liked the episode, the mystery behind the Black Flame has been intriguing and it feels like it is gonna continue to escalate until a game changer moment in this next episode.

This mixture of science behind the mechanics of it's cold fusion abilities that point to Ronnie's direction or at least to the Firestorm Matrix but the unexplained part remains in the way it chooses it's targets who are/were mourning by manifesting into the shape of their loved ones like it tried it with Chester is the crux of the problem.

And I got a different theory than the one he proposed, the Black Flame isn't exactly pursuing those that never faced their grief but more like those that didn't get the chance to say goodbye to the ones they lost which fit in his case (even though he did got the chance to talk to him the day before his death) and in Caitlin's because she had no idea Firestorm would return.

Killer Frost's and Barry's different POVs made sense but she did win the argument by comparing how if Iris wouldn't stay still despite her own situation therefore she also couldn't as well made sense. Same thing with the reveal that if the flames had a cryo signature and were alive then they needed to feed from some source of cold, making Frost a logical target and heck when she used her powers on the flames at the speed lab they only spreaded out further. Everything added up.

Happy they finally brought back the reveal from 5x19 of Carla having the potential of being a metahuman however I've realized that there's this underlying storyline that has been going on in-between since the Godspeed arc in S7 about latent metagenes that have been awakening in some characters, from Kramer to Tinya in Coast City & now with Caitlin and Frost's mother that have nothing to do with the particle accelerator, could it be going somewhere else after Season 8?

Joe's wisdom always delivers, this one about leaders having to let go and trust their teammates while still supporting them was a good one.

Iris "Thanos'ed" Tinya's mom with her time sickness, damn. I wonder if she's gonna find the time to disclose this to Barry just like how she did at the beginning despite Deon's advice. One on hand this makes her dangerous therefore she should be put in quarantine somewhere like in the Vanishing Point but on the other hand if she could find the way to control it, then it could be used to get rid of the Black Flame.

And if I had to take a guess at what the Black Flame is I'd say it is a corrupted Flame of P'ytar that has been acting up ever since the ending of Armageddon when Barry severed it's connection with Despero, his warnings about how wrong it was to do that felt to me as foreshadowing. But since I'm not so sure it is just some power source going rogue by itself I remember as well that in Armageddon 8x03 Black Lightning mentioned that the JL came up with the Injustice Protocols after they dealt with someone named Faust. The only one in DC that fits that is Felix Faust, a magician. It felt like such a weird mention to me that there was at some point an offscreen JL crossover event but after seeing how Iris' time sickness has gotten worse because she asked Deon to remove her treatments so she could help in seeing the Negative Still Force particles back in the erased Reverse-Flashpoint timeline then perhaps it also undid whatever happened with Faust and this is all his work now since he never would've dealt with the JL.

Long ass theory I know, but I like to speculate. XD

Also they're currently supposed to be shooting the final two episodes and I'm curious how exactly will the inclusion of this new speedster character will factor in the next couple of post-Black Flame arc episodes.

Meena Dhawan, briefly teased as an Easter egg in 7x01 by her name appearing in a book that Chester was reading, in her "Fast Track" costume on set with Grant Gustin.

Leaving here a small imgur album with the BTS pics because ImgBB is malfunctioning right now, hopefully it is back soon.

Its nice to see "The Flash" getting more pro comments than con on here for a change. Usually its "Lois and Clark" only and everything else in the CW Arrowverse is not worth talking about. The show has been looking pretty good the past few weeks and I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.

Honestly I’ve been a fan of GG from those season 2 episodes of Arrow.

The Flash will be a multiverse movie. Cast him by saying he’s a multiverse Barry but now the main Barry in Keaton/Supergirl universe. Done.

He deserves it.

I wonder if they'll bring back Robbie Amell for more than a small appearance? Was pretty disappointed with Rick Cosnett's return.
