THE FLASH: "Armageddon" Part 3 Finally Reveals The Circumstances Behind [SPOILER]'s Shocking Death

The second part of "Armageddon" revealed that a key character from The Flash had been killed off screen, but the latest instalment of the event finally explained the circumstances surrounding their demise.

The Flash's "Armageddon" crossover has definitely delivered its fair share of surprises, but many fans were unhappy to learn that Jesse L. Martin's Joe West had been killed off-screen between seasons at the end of the second episode. It felt like a disrespectful way of handling the character's demise, but it appears there's more to what happened than meets the eye.

It did seem odd that Barry Allen appeared to have forgotten what happened to Joe, though the blame for that was put on the Scarlet Speedster apparently losing his mind. However, in the third chapter of the crossover on Tuesday, Iris West started digging into her father's death and noticed some strange particles in the air on the train tracks he supposedly fell on before being hit by an ahead-of-schedule train.

Eventually, it was confirmed that the timeline had been rewritten with the use of the Reverse Still Force; Joe was never supposed to die, and it appears Reverse-Flash is responsible.

With that in mind, it's likely Joe will return, which would explain comments from showrunner Eric Wallace in which he teased the character's story arc in season 8. Being killed and the restored is surely going to have a major impact on Barry's father figure, so the fallout from "Armageddon" is bound to be significant. It also appears the stage is being set for a major Reverse-Flash battle.

Rather than a single big bad, this season of The Flash is utilising multiple "graphic novel" style storylines, and it's proving to be an interesting approach to the Fastest Man Alive's world.

Remember when you were making out with Iris and she did that thing that made you question yourself? IT WAS ME, BARRY! I WAS THE FINGER.

I haven't watched this show in quite a while. I've seen most of the seasons though. The question for my fellow CBM'rs is this: should I come back to the show?

I'm not a fan of the CWdrama approach, but I was a big fan of Superman and Lois, particularly the first half of season 1. Is this show headed that direction?

I'm intrigued with the graphic novel approach that keeps getting mentioned on the site. Really like the sound of it.

I'm really hoping this event isn't a fluke and we'll get more than one semi-coherent storyline for the entire season.

The episode was quite good even if half of it was focused on the supporting cast trying to find Barry's whereabouts while the another one figured out what really did happen to Joe.

Cecile making a deal with Top to make her work with the team makes me think of how a Rogues group dynamic would be like. With that said I liked Top here and her tough love talk to push Cecile beyond her limits but Caitlin's advice was right too.

Top managed to survive Despero's attack so I wonder when will we see her next time, it was close call.

BTW it isn't the "Reverse" Still Force but the Negative Still Force which was what Deon discovered as what changed the timeline without him or Barry realizing it.

This also means that there could be out there both Negatives Sage and Strenght Forces. TBH this was quite the reveal in the episode.

And the scenes between barry and Jefferson were great, from the Injustice Protocols to their skirmish and that ending, wow.

They were lowkey building up this storyline, clever use for it.

Another good episode, this has been a pretty good crossover arc so far. I'd say this episode was better than the first but not as good as last week's. I think the highlight of the episode was definitely Jefferson; it was really great to have him and his calm wisdom back in the Arrowverse. The stuff with Barry was good, though I got a little confused why Barry was purposely fighting Jefferson. All of the mentions of characters from BL, and of Oliver, were great.

The weakest part of this episode was Cecile, and it dawned on me that she has officially become the weakest character/actress on the show. Cecile was getting unbearable last season, with some head scratching acting and actions. But that fight between Cecile and Iris did not make Cecile look good at all. It was horrible, absolutely terribly written. I don't know why its so hard to write some of the characters on these shows, but I hope they change, because her scenes anymore are quite abrasive. Especially because some of the stuff she was saying was just straight up false, selfish, and ridiculous.

Faust was mentioned... it appears a secret crossover happened.

Also lmfao, I had no idea who that black woman was in the future until I watched the preview.

After last season I said I'd give this show a last chance with this crossover event. Glad its actually somewhat decent. The dialogue is cringey at times and Cecile is just too much for me still.
