THE FLASH: Savitar's Transformation Into The Speed God Begins In These Images From The Finale

The CW has released a batch of photos from the upcoming season finale of The Flash and it features some unexpected team-ups and very intriguing shots of Savitar plotting to become the Speed God.

The Flash delivered a real gut punch in this Tuesday's penultimate episode, but what comes next? Is Iris West really dead or could that have been a time remnant that the villainous Savitar slaughtered?

We'll have to wait and see, but these photos leave us with more questions than answers! As we see the members of Team Flash mourning their loss, Savitar can be seen confronting Barry Allen in a surprisingly non-violent encounter, while the villain is later shown alongside Killer Frost seemingly enacting his plan to become the Speed God he's claimed to be since the first time we met him.

Interestingly, it looks like Killer Frost and Vibe will be teaming up, a sign perhaps that she's going to turn on the
future Barry Allen. What do you think of these photos? Share your thoughts down below.

SEASON FINALE — With nothing left to lose, Barry (Grant Gustin) takes on Savitar in an epic conclusion to season three. David McWhirter directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing.

He was kinda creepy in the last episode. But he should have appeared sooner, to flesh him out more.

Still a great villain in my opinion.

Hang on...so Savitar just supposedly killed Iris (it was clearely a stand in or a time remnant of Iris or something)

And now Barry and Savi are stood next to each other and not at each others throats?

Wow...im am really lost how this is going to end...which is cool...i hate predictability!!!

Their idea of Time in this show is Garbage. If Savitar is a Time Remnant of THIS Barry (he has to be seeing as he literally gains new memories as THIS Barry changes things, and even lost his memory when Barry did,) then why doesn't THIS Barry just say "You know what, I am never going to create you," a la Lewis in Meet the Robinsons.

I mean if their lives are SO intertwined, why can't Barry just say, I'm not going to make you, and poof all gone, crappy end to a semi-crappy season. They all wake up and everything is back to a world without Savitar, and only Barry remembers, because that is how it ALWAYS ends up on this show....

I understand fixed points in time, I understand Paradoxes, I understand String Theory, but if they want to emphasize How Much Barry's actions feed Savitar's memories and how they change with each different action, again straight down to the losing of his memory, then just have Barry tell himself he isn't going to make him, in turn he won't need to make him because by not making him, Savitar would never have existed, and boom, on to the next season, hopefully without another speedster.

@nonserviam - yeah I thought that...surely the easiest way to break the loop and stop Savitar is in 4 years, dont create any time remnants...

Ala Bill & Ted...

Bill: "Hey Ted in 4 years remember not to create any time remnants against Savitar"

Ted: "Excellent..."

queue air guiatr...

Problem solved...

@nonserviam @SuperSomething616 - In theory youre right. But speedsters have the speedforce.

By not creating time remnants you wont stop savitar. He may not be created, but he will still exist throughout the timeline, as he is protected by the speedforce.

Just like Eobard in the season 1 finale. Eddie killed himself, but numerous versions of eobard are still showing up in the timeline, as he is protected by the speedforce.

Hope this helps clarify some stuff

@nonserviam - The time travel rules in this show have made zero sense since season 1.

- @MeAreLegend - fully aware of the details mate...as much as it hurts my head the complexities of time travel paradoxes aren't something that confuse me...

I know what you're sayin...based on previous explanations in the show, it would make you think this...especially with Eobard bouncing around after his death...

But the theory and reason for Eobard still kicking around doesn't apply to Savitar...as Cisco explained Savitar exists within a self perpetuating causality loop...

4 years from the present after Iris's death future Barry creates time remnants to try and defeat Savitar, Savitar spares one of the tr's knowing that this remnant will become him, he is then trapped in the speed force...

The time remnant is shunned and over time becomes Savitar running back in time to sow the seeds of myths of him being the first speedster and creating his cult and followers...

Supposedly...but this is where it gets confusing...the Savitar in the present that kills Iris is the one that was trapped in the speed force as he used Wally to escape his trap, this must also be true because he is already bitter towards Barry for trapping him in the first place...

So if the time remnant ran back in time after becoming Savitar but must of returned to his present to attack Barry again and then be trapped in the speed force, only to be released in 2017 4 years earlier to kill Iris...

So yes I suppose in theory there are multiple versions of Saviatr through the time stream and quite possibly in the speed force, but each serves a purpose and is required to be I a certain place at a certain moment to fulfil a prothecised action to allow the causality loop...

This loop began 4 years in the future, therefore to break the loop all Barry needs to do is not create time remnants during his confrontation with Saviatr in 2021...by having this knowledge and simply remembering to do it the chain would be broken and Savitar would disappear effectively changing the future and preventing any of the acts that all began with Iris's death from happening in the first place...

And now your next question may be this...do I have a migraine? And the answer is yes...yes I do...bloody time travel...

I think I have a vague stretched idea of what is going on. Maybe the scenes at STAR Labs with Future Flash take place after those pics which fit from the sizzle reel where Joe is telling Barry that he saw the same type of wounded soul in the remnant's eyes that was in Barry's when Nora died.

Maybe they actually try to use Barry's goodness, as Snart said, to maayybe reach a truce with him? Maybe there is no stopping nor breaking the closed loop but they can alter it if they do not follow through the script and do not start shunning Barry away or any remnant nor anyone. And they want to make things right with Future Flash and so they invite him to talk things out at the labs? What else do they have to lose at that point?

Of course, it doesn't go as planned and Future Flash just wrecks the whole place up and thus it leads to those scenes from the extended preview where Cisco is looking at the mess that is their place and so the museum closes.

Or it is all a trap and they are planning on taking him down in some way there even if it takes taking down STAR Labs itself which would explain the mess it will feature and so as well leads to the museum closing.

Stretch, I know, but it's all I can think of for now.

Also predicting that Joe is finally honored at city hall by the end. It is actually interesting that it wasn't exactly heard among the headlines in the news compared to when Barry and Cisco read them in the visits to the future visions. Perhaps the small changes to those ended up delaying Joe's reward?

I just want a good season finale, like AoS. I want action packed, not alot of filler and some nice twist that most people don't see coming. Hoping for a nice redemption finale after alot of let down from this season
