The promo for next week's season finale of Titans got everyone talking, as it revealed that Batman was going to go on a killing spree, forcing his old protege to get involved and attempt to take him down. However, DC Universe has now released a series of promo stills and a synopsis that seemingly make it clear what's actually going on.

The images give us a first glimpse of guest star Seamus Dever as Trigon, and the logline states that Rachel's demonic daddy is going to send Robin into a "dreamscape," which obviously suggests that The Dark Knight's homicidal rampage is not going to happen in the real world. Of course, this could also be misdirection - we'll just have to tune in on Friday to find out!

Check out the synopsis, stills and get another look at the promo below, and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments.

In the season finale, Trigon's powers send Dick into a dreamscape that begins with him living a happy domestic life, but soon takes him into a dark journey back to Gotham. Guest Cast: Rachel Nichols as Angela, Curran Walters as Jason Todd, Seamus Dever as Trigon & James Scallion as Johnny

It looks like Dick's hallucination/vision will give him a ready-made family as he settles down with Dawn and their imaginary child.

The promo reveals that in this reality, Batman is going to take down some of his most infamous foes... permanently! The question marks suggest that this might be Edward Nygma, a.k.a. The Riddler.

It only took 11 episodes, but Starfire finally changed that outfit! It looks like Kory is going to be Dick's partner in the "Dreamscape."

It looks like The Ventriloquist is another classic villain that'll fall foul to The Dark Knight's homicidal tendencies. It also appears that Grayson will be calling on some help from his cop friends in his investigation.

Seamus Dever as Rachel's father, Trigon. Will The Titans be able to vanquish the demon before he does some permanent damage?

Why would the folks at Arkham allow Arnold to keep his doll? @NoobNoob -

@JourneyIntoMystery - I know it seems silly, but in movies and animated series some of the characters would have some of their things. Or their belongings would be in storage.

@JoeMomma29 - oh, totally. I’m just goving it a hard time. Also it would be tough to get across that he’s the ventriloquist without the doll so I get why they did it.

@JourneyIntoMystery - A good example would be two face...he is typically shown in Arkham with coin.

@JourneyIntoMystery - Hey I agree, that is why I said it seems silly.

@JoeMomma29 - Two Face with the coin is the first thing that came to mind haha. Gotta love Arkham.

@NoobNoob - The Ventriloquist would make for a really good horror-esque, spooky detective Batman movie. Get the guy behind True Detective season 1 & Maniac and make it happen. Ugh, dream nut right there.

@CrazyCipher - I was going to say almost this exact same thing.

They let them keep some things because taking them away would lead them further down a path of insanity.

They kind of explain this in the Arkham Asylum comic. They go into more detail with Two-Face. They let him keep his coin as a way of therapy. Then they slowly started integrating other items for him to use to make choices, so they took away the coin and gave him a 3-sided dice. Then moved on to something with 4 sides, then 5 sides, etc. The sides of each object representing another decision he can make.

They tried this in an effort to eventually not give him anything hoping that he would be able to make decisions on his own, without an object. But as soon as they took his 8 sided object he lost all form of sanity and totally reverted to a scared, child like state, complete with wetting his pants and everything.

So there is a reason they give them their things.

With Ventriloquist it's probably similar. He can't really make any decisions on his own without Scarface giving him the order. So I could totally see them letting him keep the dummy for a bit while trying some kind of therapy.

@HulksPenis - Wouldn't HulkPenis break the bed if he got up in the bed?

I skipped jumping into the comment section of the article of the first promo, but I take it people flipped out. If so, I hope they feel pretty dumb right now.

I tried to like this show, but Starfire... Nope. I can't like it. I made it to episode 5 but not through it. That was the one with the booty call out of nowhere.

I think I enjoy this series so far because we’ve never really had a live action show from Robin’s perspective. Though I’m not into the dark and bloody comicbook style of this series, it’s humorous at times when someone like Wondergirl drops the F-bomb. Overall, I’m digging it and it doesn’t offend my PG sensibilities too much. I do appreciate the idea of a kid getting warped into a violent loner after his parents dying, getting rescued by someone he grows to trust, who then thrusts him back into the same violent and abusive world that took his parents from him. Cool concept, and I think they are exploring it realistically.
