The Strain seems like it is picking up steam towards it's release. This more gritty take on the vampire content that has been released to the mainstream lately looks like it could make a huge splash when it premieres. The series looks to deliver vampires as horrific creatures that will pose a threat to humanity.
Premise:
A plane lands at John F. Kennedy Airport with the lights off and doors sealed. Epidemologist Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Stoll) and his team are sent to investigate. On board they find two hundred corpses and four survivors. The situation deteriorates when the bodies begin disappearing from morgues. Goodweather and a small group of helfers find themselves battling to protect not only their own loved ones, but the entire city from an ancient threat to humanity.
The Strain is based on the trilogy of novel of the same name by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan.
It is set to premiere on July 13, 2014 on FX and is set to run for 13 episodes.
