After
Westworld season 1 teased another, mysterious park which was filled with Samurai-themed hosts and sported a SW logo rather than a WW that we'd become accustomed to, many speculated that the park was simply named
Samurai World.
A recent article by
Entertainment Weekly reveals that the speculation wasn't that far off. As it turns out, the park is seemingly officially titled:
ShogunWorld, as
EW explains:
Most have thought that “SW” stood for “Samurai World,” but the far-less-common guess is actually correct: “Shogun World.” (To be precise, the Westworld Season One finale script called the land “SHOGUNWORLD,” one word, so quite possibly it’s more properly written as “ShogunWorld”).
To clarify, a Shogun is a term for military commanders in feudal Japan. We will most likely be seeing more of ShogunWorld in season 2 of Westworld when its first episode premieres on April 22nd, especially with HBO's social media campaign teasing a "Park 2" earlier this month.
This of course opens the door to a multitude of other themed-parks that could exist under Delos' banner; what type of park would you like to see in a future season?
