It's hard to believe, but Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is finally nearing its end. The show has been on the air since 2013, and while it's certainly had its ups and downs, the series has also managed to maintain a loyal fanbase (while delivering a lot of enjoyable and memorable adventures for the team).

Now, with less than a week to go until the season seven premiere, ABC has released a batch of character posters/portraits highlighting the likes of Agent Coulson, Daisy Johnson, and "Fitzsimmons."

Here's the synopsis for the premiere, which is titled "The New Deal":

Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are thrust backward in time and stranded in 1931 New York City. With the all-new Zephyr set to time-jump at any moment, the team must hurry to find out exactly what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present and future of the world on the rip-roaring season premiere of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," airing WEDNESDAY, MAY 27 (10:00 - 11:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. (TV-14, LV) Episodes can also be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu.

It's certainly been a decent run for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but now Marvel Studios is taking charge of these small screen stories, it was sadly inevitable that the series would ultimately receive the axe.

As for those posters, you can check them out in the Tweets below!

I remember talking about Agents of SHIELD on our way to see Avengers: Age of Ultron. That feels like a million years ago. And yet here we are about get more of it. That is neat.

@TheUnworthyThor - loved how well SHIELD season 2 set up Age of Ultron. That movie basically exists because of what was going on in the show.

Was pretty disappointed with season 6 but hoping their finale goes out with a bang! This show overall has been on of the best of cbtv simply because of its constant ability to reinvent itself and stay fresh.

@JoshWilding- You mistaking the situation here with other Marvel TV shows? Cause your facts are wrong. This show wasn't canceled, it didn't receive the axe, etc. Its ending on its own terms, it chose to wrap up with season 7 long before Marvel TV was consolidated into Marvel Studios. Please fix this error.

Those appear to be more pics of the actual cast ala BTS judging by their t-shirts, they remind me to some from S5.

These posters were actually released for Season Five, and Deke's is a black & white version of his shot from Season Six
